Description: FireWorks is both the name of our restaurant and the 25 foot brick-lined, wood-burning, fire-breathing beast from where we prepare and present our Feast, every night. It features every form of live-fire cooking known to man including a smokehouse, open hearth, grill, rotisserie, plancha and oven. No dials, no switches just old-school/Farmhouse cooking. It's a dream come true for us and our chefs' brigade is proud to share the Inn's wide variety of flavours with you! Proprietors Chef Michael Smith and his wife Chastity Smith are proud to welcome you to their end of the island. For Michael, coming back to the Inn is a return to his roots as a chef. For seven years in the 1990’s, he manned the stoves here, finding his culinary voice and bringing international fame to a sleepy country inn. For Chastity, being an innkeeper allows her to share her Maritime roots, stylish design flair and love of entertaining with you and your family. Together they’ve graciously re-launched the Inn with a brand new spirit of hospitality and their shared goal of becoming one of the world’s leading culinary tourism destinations. Michael is a Canadian superstar chef with an international reputation for simple, sustainable home cooking. He is the author of 10 cookbooks and has starred in 5 different Food Network series. Michael's cooking shows are seen in more than 100 different countries around the world.

This was soooo good!! Multiple appetizers throughout the grounds prior to the long table 5 course meal of one amazing dish after another, We got to know all of our table mates and were on a first name basis with them all by the end of our meal. I understand the meals change daily; there would always be something for most everyone. You can request special menus for allergies and such. I can honestly say this was one of the best (and best tasting) experiences Ive ever had while on vacation.

The appetizers throughout the restaurant were mostly very good and the Gin and Tonic was very good. The biggest disappointment was the sit down meal, small portions overcooked. Flowers on the plate look good but lack much flavor. Dressings were so-so and the bread as well no big deal. For that kind of money I want to have a choice in the main course and I expect the food to be above par. I may go back but I would have to read a lot better reviews.

Michael Smith’s restaurant Fireworks is the most integrated-with-the-land experience I can imagine. With everything on the menu coming from the garden out back or the farm down the road or off the dock across the way the ‘seasonal locally sourced food’ fan will love this place. Add to that, everything is prepared right in front of guests over open hearth wood burning ovens. Added décor features too numerous to mention the bottom line is taste and value for money. Absolutely fabulous!! Worth the trip from Hamilton ON to PEI for the weekend to eat at Fireworks!

We ended up going directly to a hamburger stand to fill up...and we are two small women. Beautiful place. I am a foodie and don't mind spending a lot of money on a really good meal... but seriously the portions were child size...not enough to even enjoy the courses or the various flavours...I would never go back again...

The good. Very nice grounds for strolling around and trying out appetizers outdoors. I loved the oyster bar . Inside the restaurant is very unique with the live fire in kitchen and fireplaces in other rooms lite up
The bad. The meal it self. The 100 year old bread recipe was ok.seafood chowder was served in a small canning jar on a board with other stuff on it for looks. It was fine but had way better at several other places on the island. Salad came out It tasted like they pulled it out of the lawn out back. Was not impressed. Main course. A beef rib and a small piece of steak. Rib was burnt quite badly. Flavor was there but hard to find perhaps chef Ramsey wound have never allowed that to leave the kitchen lol
Desert. A slice of baked apple with a spoonful of ice cream on top . You needed a knife to cut th Apple it was so dry really from a kitchen full of chefs
Lets talk about that very unique dining room. Remember all the fires. Add about 100 people in a small space. You guessed it very hot and very loud
The bad. Ok we knew going in this was not cheap. 125 a piece plus tax But after a so so meal. A couple of 12.00 beers and 2or 3 18.00 glasses of wine the bill was about 360.00 all in
The most expensive diner we have ever purchased so you would think we would have been blown away But we were not, expected a home cooked FEAST but instead received a bunch of small portions some not very good. When driving away we almost felt cheated out of our cash
If this is how the rich eat they can have it
Wow how little PEI has grown when you have big city crazy expensive restaurants that are full ever nite. From now on we will stick to the 20.00 entre places. Or blue mussel in rustico. While still pricy. Way better food and great views and great chefs
