We were more than satisfied with our accommodations. The room was large, clean and well maintained. The bed was great.

We stayed for two nights and on our way out the first morning asked the manager, who was working in the room next to ours, if we could have a couple of extra bath towels. They were in our room when we returned that evening.

We have friends with a boat on the Rideau, so a visit next year is a distinct possibility. We won’t look anywhere else for accommodations. We could have stayed in a $250 plus B&B but, why would we when this place has so much to offer at less than half the price per night.

We have already recommended it to friends who had a similar experience.

The family who owns this hotel are really friendly and helpful. The photos don't do the rooms justice. My room was clean, spacious, furnished with thoughtfully. It was peaceful and the best sleep I've had in a long time. I'm a light sleeper and had no problems here.

I stayed at the Colonial for a couple of nights with some friends. No problems with our reservations. The motel is well kept, and the rooms we occupied were quite nice and clean. The bathrooms have been renovated. I would have given a 4-star rating for the motel, but be aware that it's in a noisy spot, and light sleepers may have issues. It's along the highway, but on a stretch where trucks and transports accelerate and slow down (often using air brakes). Just across the highway is a very busy railroad, with lots of long freight trains moving all day and night. But if you can handle the noise, it's a good motel in my opinion.
