Went for our 32nd anniversary. We both ordered the classic Filet Mignon medium rare, baked potatoe, mixed salad and a drink.
It was a Friday night and the restaurant was packed with people waiting for a table. The wait wasn't too long. Parking is a challenge.
Our waiter who was amazing brought our drinks and piping hot freshly baked bread to start. It was delicious.
Next came our mixed salad. Perfectly dressed and many vegetables on top. Portion size large and t was delicious.
While waiting for our mains, the manager came by to give bad news. The kitchen has missed our order, so the wait would be longer. The good news, appetizer on the house!
We were enjoying our evening out and since it was so business, we really didn't noticed.
We could decide on the appetizers so the manager brought both. A shrimp cocktail, too die for and Calamari, which was just okay. Wouldn't order it again.
Our steak was perfectly cooked and so flavourful. Mushrooms on the side, to die for. I could of ate a plate of them. Bearnaise sauce in a small jug. Baked potato was great with butter and sour cream. Grilled pepper, my favourite and great tasting, fresh green beans perfectly cooked. Everything was piping hot and perfect.
Then to our surprise was a glass of champagne on the house. So lovely and thoughtful.
And finally to our surprise a piece of ice cream cake on the house. Loved the cake, especially the carmel, chocolate sauce and toasted thinly sliced pecans on touch.
My husband stated he has a new restaurant to go to more often. This restaurant is amazing, the manager knows how to take care of his customers along with his hard working staff. The food is the best I've ever had at the Keg. Won't go back to the Oshawa location, this is my favourite Keg.
Thank-you to our waiter and manager for the outstanding food , experience and making our anniversary extra special.
