We spent three nights at Maison Fiset house as part of a ten day trip through Cape Breton and Prince Edward Island. Cheticamp is a charming town, complete with shops and restaurants, and is easily accessible to the most beautiful parts of the Cabot Trail. The staff at Maison Fiset was incredibly attentive and friendly and the breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. We stayed in the La Dique room and very much enjoyed its jacuzzi tub and balcony. The accommodations are clean and modern and the bed/bedding was very comfortable. We highly recommend this inn for exploring the Cabot Trail and experiencing the Acadian culture and history of the area.

Room Tip: We loved our balcony and view off the La Dique room.

We received good welcome. We stayed two nights in the regular room Cape Rouge and there was a side view the harbour. The room was a bit smaller than we would have expected as there was not a lot of spare floor space to place and open our suitcases. However the breakfast was excellent, everywhere was very clean and quality of furniture and décor throughout the house was very good.

We were very happy with our stay here. Our spacious, well-equipped, clean and comfortable room more than met our expectations, and the en suite bathroom was large and spotless. Because it was unseasonally warm, we were able to sit on the deck overlooking the water and soak up some early October sun. A very full breakfast was served in the attractive dining area by two cheerful and attentive waitresses. Off street parking is plentiful, and the guest house is located within a level walk to restaurants, so you may not need to use your car anyway. Because Cheticamp is a Cabot Trail access point, this is a desirable location for travelers.

We found it hard to choose suitable accommodation for our Cabot Trail visit but we are really glad we settled on Maison Fiset. It is well located on Cape Breton and is situated just on the edge of the town of Cheticamp, making it easy enough to walk to restaurants of which there are several good options in town.
Maison Fiset is a lovely old building with very comfortable rooms, we were lucky to be given one of the large rooms with a balcony facing the sea. It is peaceful at night as the road does quieten down.
Breakfast was very good although the kitchen staff did seem to struggle to get right the continental option for one of us, cooked breakfasts were very well done.
We really appreciated the friendly, helpful, welcoming staff here, they were very accommodating at all times and Lynn, the manager was great at helping us and her other guests get the most out of the Cabot Trail; she is a real mine of information and local knowledge. And just like her weather forecast for the day, she's a real ray of sunshine!

Room Tip: Rooms at the front are good size with large semi private balcony, others are smaller with balconies with views from the side. But all good.
