The area is of global cultural significance in how and when the Vikings set up trading routes and established a settlement here and the site of Leif Erikson's homestead.

The Leif Erikson's International Foundation made a generous donation of this magnificent statue which is the third and final replica of the Seattle Leif Erikson statue.

The monument, which really only consists of a larger than life sized Statue of Leif Erickson is located at the entrance of the L'Anse aux Meadows site.

Unfortunately it was pouring rain so we did not spend a lot of time at the site. It would have been more enjoyable in better weather

Another neat landmark, but no real signs to tell you it is there. We found this neat monument by the Norseman Restaurant. He looks out over the ocean. This monument was donated by the Leif Erisond Foundation of Seattle.

Nicely made statue and explanation of its build. Location was beautiful and the Norstead restaurant made a most excellent duck comfit.
