We came for 2 nights, but ended up staying for 4 nights and wanting more. Lynn and George are truly warm and caring individuals who love being able to host their guests. Make sure you stay for the optional dinners as the food and service are spectacular.....although not formal. There are no overstatments on the website, rooms are very comfortable, clean and and well decorated. If you want peace, comfort, and to meet warm and friendly Newfoundlanders, you won't go wrong ( although you may gain a pound or two if you stay too long).

Room Tip: Descriptions received from George on the phone were bang on.

I stayed at the Rothesay House for a painting workshop in July. It was a delightful 2 week stay. Lynn and George are excellent hosts and you're always made to feel welcome. Lynn cooks gastronomical delights - she is fabulous. George provides the entertainment - either with his stories, his piano playing or his humour. Maggie and O'Malley, the two resident dogs, also add to the ambience and are very friendly. We stayed for 2 weeks and did day trips in the area - lots of things to do and see and Rothesay is a nice place to come home to in the evening.

If you appreciate beautiful decor and Historical homes, you will love Rothesay. The owners have restored this heritage home overlooking the Harbour and created a lovely setting. Lynn is an interior designer who has an eye for patterns and color and each guest room is gorgeous. Lynn is also a wonderful cook and her dinners and breakfast will not disappoint you. George will tell you all about the history of the area and in his light Irish accent many a local story. I highly recommend this as a stop on the way to or out of St. John's.

Room Tip: All rooms are lovely and decorated with a vintage flare.

Lynn and George are the perfect hosts for a B&B. Their home is lovely and inviting - the food was great - the beds comfortable. George is very knowledgeable about the History of the area and quite interesting to converse with. The gardens are beautiful - although it was raining when we left. We would love to return and would recommend this B&B to all! Thanks again . . . Until we meet again! Judy and Brian

Lynn and George are super and made my stay so comfortable! they are personable, sweet and accommodating! it was my first time in a bed and breakfast and because of them i am willing to try it again, however when i go back to harbour grace i will only stay with them! they have a moto or a saying at rothesay house, "come as a guest, leave as a friend" and i believe they accomplish that! through hearing the stories of friends they have made and kept through opening the doors to their home, and they can now add me to the list of friends they have made:) thanks to both of you, maggie and o'maley too......hope to see you again!
i highly recommend rothesay house for your stay in harbour grace!
