Just got back from only one night at Absolute Heaven and wish we could have stayed longer. We have two young children and the B&B was perfect for them. There were beach toys, children's books/games and a hot tub beside a nice area of grass for the girls to run and play. Breakfast was wonderful. Beachcombing was great. Hope to be back soon.
i stayed here for one night while taking part in the 2011 BC bike race. I booked it because the local hotels all took their time getting back to me and didn't sound very friendly or were good value. Also Absolute Heaven looked amazing on the website - with fantastic views out to sea. You can actually walk down to the beach from the house, my friend even went for a quick swim. Doug and Doreen have a couple of crab pots in the bay and cooked up a couple of fresh crabs for us. It wasn't part of the rate but I mention it because it shows they have an innate sense of hospitality, warmth and kindness, things that are often missing from other places where I've stayed. Would i stay here again? Definitely and i advise you to do the same.
Never written a review before but feel this is worth mentioning..... We stayed an extra day, that's how nice our experience was. We had planned a 3 night stay in Sechelt to explore the area, bike, hike, eat, read and relax, then back to Vancouver before flying back to the States, but we stayed 4 nights, as there was another day available before starting to be booked up for the season. Sechelt is well located to get to any spot on the Sunshine Coast, we drove up to Egmont (45 minutes) on the North tip and down to Gibsons (25 minutes) on the south several times, to hike or explore, and mulitple hikes in between. As well, there are great trails right nearby for hikes or biking.
We were warmly greeted by both hosts, Doug was grooming the comfortably outfitted beach area, which has a picnic table, reclining lounger chairs, and multiple comfortable Adirondack chairs, as well as a fire pit. We read a bit every morning and afternoon in these. We stayed in the Ocean View Suite, which opens up onto a covered porch facing a lawn and the water, the view is sublime from the porch, the living room, and kitchen, and you can sit out even if it is raining a bit. You feel good about it right away. A complimentary bottle of wine was on the kitchen table. The suite, that included separate bedroom, living room with gas fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, and a spacious bedroom, was immaculate, new, and odor free. Windows open in every room, creating a nice cross breeze. The rooms are nice size and neutral in decor, with comfortable furniture. There are even binoculars to look at ships passing in the far distance or nearby birds. The towels are thick, abundant, and the bed comfortable. The nights are silent for a good nights sleep.
The hosts are friendly, gracious, quiet, helpful in offering suggested hikes, trails, local events, etc, but not at all intrusive. Just really nice people. They occupy the floor above the suite but you never hear them. You really feel you are alone in this beautiful place. The gardens are spectacular with a huge variety of flowering perennials and shrubs as well as an organic vegetable garden to view.
The breakfast, I had 3 of them, were fantastic, different each day, I wish I could put a picture in. Someone loves to cook, and I think it is Doreen. I requested egg whites one day and a delicious egg white and salmon scramble was served. Fresh fruit and juice starts off each breakfast, baked pineapple, fresh berries, some locally grown or harvested from the abundant berry bushes was served each day, along with fresh pastries (muffins, berry scones, blueberry pound cake) baked in house, which I saved for hiking. Tasty, apples pancakes, real maple syrup, a plum preserve made from her own plum tree (this was outrageously good, I had it twice), the same fresh baked plums in a delicate sauce, it was all out of this world. Very fine coffee or tea is provided in the freezer for you to make fresh each day. The black berries were so good I mentioned it, and Doug said they were picked locally and that afternoon, an entire bowl appeared in our refrigerator! We cooked in the evenings and the kitchen has everything you need. The town has a local fish market that is superb.
The hot tub is steps away from the suite and provides a sort of endless pool kind of look at the water and horizon when inside it, its great, we used it nightly to rest our feet from hiking. The place is near to 2 other summer houses, but it is perfectly quiet and one feels quite alone and rested. There is no traffic noise from the road, all the rooms face the ocean, and you can hear the waves at night if you leave the windows open a bit.
We are coming back.

My favourite parts of our stay were the doe and 2 fawns coming to drink from the hummingbird feeders, while we were in the hot tub, our awesome gourmet breakfast and I had the best view of the ocean from my comfy pull out sofa bed.........the hosts were wonderful and made us feel very welcome and there complimentary wine and snacks were very much appreciated........the area of Sechelt is just gorgeous and I would definitely reccommend this amazing B&B to anyone wanting peace and quiet while sightseeing along the coast........
The pictures are exactly what you get, an amazing view, hot tub overlooking the ocean, quiet beach and cozy accommodations. Close to town so it's easy to get out and enjoy some kayaking, hiking or golfing, but really you'll just want to curl up and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and beautiful surroundings.
