We just spent a weekend in Nakusp. Was a great stay. Bed was super comfy, hot tub was clean, comfortable and right outside the door. Tammi was a great host, with breakfast of our choice, served when we wanted. Walking distance to town for dinner. Beats any hotel in my opinion. And Loco the cat completed the "felt like home" experience that we let in from the rain for a visit. See you again!

Nakusp and the entire West Kootenays is, for many, an unexplored area of B.C. that is far less visited or indeed, even known of, that other more 'touristy' areas of the province such as the Okanagan. This is indeed a pity because despite the somewhat colder temperatures of the higher mountain lakes and the longer access, the area is stunningly beautiful, replete with hiking, fishing and recreational activities, and most soothing for the soul. This is the place to come to escape the harried stresses of everyday life and to 'just be.'

From Nakusp and down the arm of the lake through the charming hamlets of Rosebery and Hills and on to the delightful small towns of New Denver, Silverton and beyond, the area is scattered with charming B&B's run by their laid-back and relaxed owners. Cozy Cabin B&B is typical of many of these and we had a delightful four day stay. We were treated to a completely self-contained private suite and in this sense it was in reality more akin to renting an apartment than a conventional B&B. The suite consists of a full bath, bedroom with plenty of storage, kitchen, dining and seating area, as well as a lovely and spacious deck, hot tub, and abundant vegetable garden complete with a chicken coop. We actually did not even notice the chicken coop until our last day, a testament to the volume or lack there of--no worries here about being woken by enthusiastic roosters. In addition, there is a delightful aged cat who hangs around and will want to be your best friend, if you are so inclined.

Tammy is a gracious and friendly host who will, if so desired, provide delicious breakfasts that are delivered right to your suite. My husband loved his Eggs Bennie and had it three days in a row.

The only possible 'negative' might be that the B&B is located close to the highway and during the day, there is a certain amount of noise from the highway. However, given that one is usually out and about during the day this is not an issue and we noticed no noise whatsoever from the bedroom in the evenings. Also, traffic is minimal to almost non-existent in the evenings, allowing for peaceful soaks in the hot tub under the usually starry skies.

Not too much to add that's different from the other reviews. Great place, great location (1 minute from the main street in a car). The owner is delightful and the breakfast is amazing. So as others have mentioned, there are two cabins (top and bottom). We were on the main level and someone was renting upstairs. The only slight downside with this is that the cabins are...well, cabins. So there is creaking. And if the person/people are walking around up there at midnight, you hear it. I'm a light sleeper so I heard it all, but because everything else was great, you can overlook that bit. But if you're a light sleeper, bring some earplugs just in case.

Room Tip: Lower cabin is awesome

Everything was amazing, the fireplace in the bedroom added to the cabin feel, as well as the retro stove in the kitchen/living area, the bathroom was very clean and tidy, and even the cat was super friendly! The food was excellent and the service was top notch, highly recommend this place!

My wife and I have been riding our motorcycles to Nakusp for an annual get-together at our friend's place for the past 15 years. We discovered the Cozy Cabin B&B on our first visit to Nakusp and fell in love with it.

Tammy and Ralph are fantastic hosts and always make us feel right at home. The breakfasts that Tammy creates are fantastic and the perfect start to a day of exploring the beauty of this incredible region. The rooms are always clean and well prepared for us each time we have stayed here. There is often a welcoming cat or dog nearby the entrance to our cabin, but they know their place and never try to intrude into our room.

Cozy Cabin B&B is a wonderful oasis for those visiting in Nakusp - we plan to continue coming back here each year.
