We had a lot of fun taking photos. It seems this place really depends on donations. I could tell that the local volunteers have really put their heart in it. Is it as nice as a paid outdoor walking tour? No. But that's to be expected on donations. Worth stopping by if you are in town.

If you have kids and need a drive break this would be a nice choice. It's free, you get to walk up to the giant buffalo statue, there is a buffalo herd overlook but they are not always visible from the overlook. The access to the buffalo museum is on the same property but we did not do that. Even if you don't have kids you might enjoy a quick walk through.

Enjoyed a short stop here on the way to Medora. Worth a stop. Cute village with lots of neat artifacts.

This village is a restored village from the early 1900s through 1970s. Lots of artifacts that bring back some memories from days gone by. It was an interesting way to spend about 45 minutes. There is the world's largest buffalo statue. Supposedly there is a large buffalo herd to see but we saw none. That was disappointing.

There is also the National Buffalo Museum at the same area.

This is a very nice collection of old west buildings, worth a quick stop on your way (and right next to the largest bison statue and the National Buffalo Museum). They have a nice playground and picnic area for lunch and kids to play on.
