Perhaps one of the most comfortable hotels in the area. You'd think you were in a much larger city enjoy the comforts of a business hotel. And frankly that's how it's laid out. Nice little entertaining area in each room with a lounging couch. Small business center in each room but enough to hook up the laptop, take some papers out and even charge the ipad. Bedding is luxurious, perhaps not central Chicago style but close. And finally the free breakfast had a good range of selection both hot and cold and tasty. Only complaint and the reason it's a four instead of a five, fire alarm went off at 4 am and we didn't feel like anyone knew how to handle this. Whether it's a false alarm (it was) or not, someone should be aware of procedures and protocols. They didn't. As well they use those stupid plastic key entries that invariably will fail at least once during the vacation and anytime I have those you won't get a five star. Simply put, they're garbage and inconvenient to guests.

Overall, great place and I would go back.

Room Tip: Kings are one bed to the room, queens are two. Not much difference in space.

I had been scheduled for training in Grand Forks for one week a month for four months and I was booked at the Springhill Suites for these hotel stays. The Springhill Suites is a very accommodating hotel and the staff were pleasant. The breakfasts were a little bland, but there were local restruants and shopping malls to take care of any food or shopping needs. The hotel does not have a resturant, but they do provide microwaveable foods to purchase in the lobby (not my thing, but if you have children it may work in a pinch!) and names of local eateries that deliver to the hotel. Overall, my stay has been very good. Rooms are clean and well stocked with towels and extra blankets for the cool fall/winter evenings. I would stay at a Marriott Springhill Suites again.

Room Tip: If you want to use the workout room make sure you bring your own headphones!

Clean lines, modern decor, and stylish public spaces makes Springhill Suites shine. Close to the University of North Dakota (3 miles away) and around the corner from shopping and restaurants, location is key for Springhill Suites. To top it off the breakfast, pool and fitness center are amenties that make your stay comfortable. You will be glad you stayed here.

My husband and I travel to GrandForks a few visit every year. We decided to change where we stay and are very happy we did. After a morning of shopping and a bite for lunch, we went to see what time we could check in as we knew we were early. They check us in right away with no hassles. Upon entering our room, the only thing we could say was WOW. The size was amazing, lots of room. The breakfast was great and lots to offer. Different hot breakfast from one day to the next. The pool area was quiet and the whirlpool was very nice after a day of shopping. The shower was big. The toilet is in a separate area from the shower which is nice. The rooms were very quiet, which is nice. We stated thru the week so not to much traffic. Highly recommend.

The hotel doesn't look any different that all the others on the outside, but wait until you walk in the door! The front desk is to your right as you enter the lobby, with shelves filled with various sundries that are available for purchase. To your left are long, sheer, aqua and beaded curtains, hanging in a figure 8. It's the breakfast area, with tables and chairs. It's all very modern, including a long table with a lighted plastic surface, surrounded by stools. Very cool! The hallways are a bit odd, with really wild carpeting and one wallpaper on the right hallway wall and another on the left hallway wall. The rooms were tastefully decorated with white bedding, aqua sofas, blue-green paneled doors and aqua and orange accent pillows. It sounds like all the rooms are identical, with a separate seating area (separated by a floor to ceiling panels that ran half the width of the room). It was so nice that we actually invited friends up to the room for a nice chat. The flat screen t.v. has to be the largest I've ever seen in a hotel (maybe 42"?!). I liked the separated bathroom because you have two sinks. In between the two areas is a walk-in closet. We brought leftovers home from Paradiso and were able to eat them the next day. Plates and plastic utensils are inside the microwave. They gave us a group discount because we were part of a UND sorority reunion. The only minor negatives were some noise (freeway traffic, train, loud people upstairs), slightly soft mattresses, no restaurants within walking distance, and no room safe.

Room Tip: If you're a light sleeper, don't get a room on the highway side.
