So we left storms river in the morning with no destination in mind.
On traveling through the roads we decided that Maclear would be our next stop.
I called Alpine bed and breakfast first as they have such a good rating.
We got offered a family room at a really good rate.
Bed and breakfast included.
What was also awesome is they have a public Resturant which made getting dinner a breeze.

Hosts are warm and welcoming.
Thank you for a lovely stay.

Visited the Bistro the week before our visit. Asked to see the rooms and obtained a quote of R670 per night. Immediately booked in for the following week. When went to pay for the stay, I was charged R900. The gentleman who took the payment was not prepared to even discuss the matter. This leaves a very bad taste in my mouth.
Other than this, the accommodation was comfortable and food was good.

Room tip: Excellent for one night stay over.

Thank you for your review.
We are glad that you enjoyed your stay.
We do apologize for the miss communication about pricing. Its best to always contact our resevations for correct pricing. Our staff can unfortunately not negotiate pricing with guests,as our rates have been set for the whole year. The R650 rate is for Bed&Breakfast for a single guest per room for 2017. A couple sharing is R900 for 2017

My husband and I were travelling between KZN and Hogsback, and we needed an overnight stop. What a find! It was just perfect in every way and just the type of accommodation we were looking for. Comfortable bed, lovely decor, welcoming coffee, tea, rusks and milk in the fridge as well as two bottles of very welcome bottled water. The hot water pressure in the shower was just the best ever! We had dinner at the Alpine Bistro, and were very impressed. Lovely staff and the owners kindly offered us freezer space for meat we were taking home. Will most definitely stay there when we travel this route again.

WE arrived late on bikes after a cold and wet ride through naudes nek. No booking but thank goodness a warm cozy room for us. On top of that the fire place and bar dining room were perfect along with really friendly and helpful hosts. Well done for all that makes a steady great

What a find. A hidden gem in this quaint part of town. Excellent food and world class service. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. Would go back in a heartbeat. Right up the street from The Bean & Bun Coffee Shop which is a must see/taste. Same ownership, 5 star service and excellent coffee, milkshakes and homemade pastries. We were definitely spoiled:)
