Rudest General Manager ever. WOW. She not only disrespected a War Veteran and his service animal, but she was changing the dog weight requirements “because I’m the manager and what I say goes.”
I was part of a group that came to this hotel for a local event, a dog friendly hotel with a 75lb maximum weight limit for dogs, mind you, and she was arguing with us about my dog. My dog weighs 70 lbs , 5 lbs under the weight limit, and she tells us these are “loose rules,” that she can change the rule as she sees fit, and she was telling us we needed to check out and leave. Yes, we had already checked in and she’s telling us we need to cancel and leave. Absolutely nothing even started the. She looked at my dog when I walked back into the hotel (we checked in a day prior) and asked how much she weighs. 70lbs. Weight maximum is 75lbs for hotel… she tells me I can’t stay there with my dog.
Oh, it gets worse. A disabled war veteran who is in our group has a service dog. He was speaking on behalf of the group. She is raising her voice at him telling him that she doesn’t care that he has a service animal. “It’s not a real thing,” she kept telling him. He pulled out his legal paperwork to show the dog (who is also wearing her vest and tags) is his legal service animal for his disability. She says “put that paper away. I don’t need to look at it.” Arguing with a war vet and telling him there is no such thing as service animals for disabled veterans. WOW.
Then she tells him that he needs to apologize to her for starting to raise his voice (of course, she’s standing there creating a major scene over a dog that is 5lbs under the weight limit and also completely disrespecting a war veteran.) He apologizes for raising his voice, and says that he feels he deserves an apology for her disrespecting him
And telling him that his service animal and tag is not a real thing. She did not apologize.
I have stayed at many Hampton Inns with my large dog, not once have ever had a problem, until this woman created such an issue for absolutely no reason.
So much for this dog friendly hotel.
I sincerely hope a new GM takes her place because this woman certainly does not know how to run a friendly hotel. I hope she is having a much happier and friendlier weekend.
