Three generations of our family went to the Open Barn event this past weekend. Thought we'd see some goats, let our kids hold their kids and have a look around, before heading off to the other things on our adventure. Boy, was I wrong.

I had called the day before and was told that one of the goats had triplets earlier in that day, so we knew we'd see some when we got there. When we did, the goats were somewhat separated into those that were pregnant and the birth was at least a few days off, and those that were "Very" pregnant or had just given birth.

While we were there we watched two live births. One was less than five feet from us! It was pretty incredible. The staff there was so calm and knowledgeable. They answered all of our many questions and told us what was going on. We all cheered after one birth when we were told "It's a boy!"

All of us came away thinking it was just so incredible. We hear that this event gets more popular every year, and if it is anything like we saw, we can understand why.

Recently took a trip out to Siler City to attend a Sunday Dinner at the Dairy. We did not stay at the actual Inn but would love to one day. The dinner was fabulous. It started out with great appetizers, a fulfilling entree' along with a scrumptious coconut cake for dessert. The actual venue was inside and was decorated very elegantly. The structure of the barn has wood dated back pre-civil war. Lots of great history on this land. The hosts were very welcoming. After dinner, we took a tour of the goat farm and got to mingle with all of the wonderful pregnant goats. We look forward to going back when they have "Open Barn" in Feb to see all of the kids that were born.

Great destination for a wedding weekend. Got to try the ginger ice cream made from their goats' milk.

A little slice of Heaven comes to mind when describing The Inn at Celebrity Dairy. If relaxation, gourmet breakfasts fresh from the garden AND the goats sounds intriguing, this is the place for you.Brit and Flemingvare so gracious. It really felt like we were visiting family. I enjoyed the fact that the rooms are free of televisions. If you must watch TV there is a beautiful cozy den with a large flat screen, books, and games. We will definitely be back. The only downside was we were so sad to leave!

The B&B was rustic and the owners were so nice. We loved the peaceful location. It was easy to relax and get away from the chaos of the city.
