Just off the main road through Truro is the Pioneer Park. A small park that pays tribute to the local history of farming and pioneers of the town. It is a perfect place to meet whilst exploring the town and also to entertain the kiddies and playful furry friends. There is a small playground and a contained dog park. Rules for use of the dog park are well displayed. A drinking fountain with two levels – one for humans and one for man’s best friends is close to the covered seating area.

I was impressed with the open layout and the complimentary artworks symbolizing transport, wool, farming and mining and also water absolutely essential for the all the local industries. Car parking, including disabled parking, is kerbside within the park.

I would recommend grabbing a coffee and cake from the local bakery and make your way to Pioneer Park for an enjoyable spot to have it.

Return? When stopping next in Truro, definitely will grab the coffee and head to Pioneer Park.
