Beautiful Historic Buildings
4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 24 Dec 2020
The wine is good, but to be truthful, I really enjoyed the beautiful heritage buildings of Langmeil Cottages. They are largely in their original state with lovely lawns, a tree that is probably an almond tree, several wooden log planters and a visiting artist who was there as part of the annual South Australia Living Artists program.

There's sufficient parking and the entrance has a long driveway with some heritage artifacts at a little park on the left, an old storage building which, when I visited, had an artist and her exhibition of unique paintings, most of which had been sold.

The wine tasting area had a wood fire burning and was pretty well full as to buses of tourists were imbibing in the local Langmeil delights.

Nearby in the tasting area is a small wall unit with a variety of products from the region.

It's a very pleasant little spot, even if you don't want to taste the wines.

Very nice comfortable cottages. Easy 15 minute walk into Tanunda village. Great bathroom and bed. Hosts were very inconspicuous but were there if you needed. Excellent info pack in cottage and great selection for light breakfast.

These cottages are a great place to stay while in Tanunda. The Main Street is a short drive or a leisurely walk. Each cottage is self contained and has everything needed. There is a separate bedroom off the lounge, kitchen and dinning area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stop here in 2016, so when planning our trip for this year, there was no debate over where we would stay in Tanunda. Once again we were not disappointed. In ‘Standish’ this time we had all the amenities needed for this to be a perfect base, and Cynthia remains a wonderful host - everything you need is to hand, the only drawback was our schedule - which restricted how long we could stay!
Convenient to visit many quality wineries, this remains highly recommended accommodation- thanks for another wonderful stay, we hope to return!

Location couldn’t have been better after touring the Valley for the day. The room was like a 1 bedroom suite.... separate bedroom off the family room with cooking facilities. Breakfast you make in the room was good... fresh crossants with cheese wedge and fresh fruit. Especially like the bed comfort. Shower was hot with good pressure and very quiet in the evening. Nice visit.

Stayed here 2 nights and have no complaints. Cosy cottages with exposed stone walls, slightly dated but exceptionally clean. Breakfast provisions were good and bed was comfy. We had everything we needed. Owners were friendly and accommodating. We didn't use the pool but it did look very inticing. Would stay here again on a return visit to the area.
