Not much selection of patisserie items, have tried their pasties and “chunky pies” totally disappointing as not much filling quite flat, and chunky is just mushy mince without flavour 😢😡 definitely better elsewhere

We stopped here for an early lunch, drawn in by the aesthetics of the venue. It does look lovely and we had a great cup of coffee, but that’s where it ended.
We asked for a table for two and the waitress walked away without saying a word to us. We followed (luckily) as she was actually showing us to our table. She then walked away without really acknowledging us or explaining the process for ordering. I wasn’t sure if there was a menu for ordering or whether it was just what was in the cabinets. I actually walked up to the counter to try and find a menu and was ignored by the 3+ staff that were serving. We ended up ordering off the specials board to keep things easier as I felt uncomfortable asking the staff.
Food was disappointing. The serves were tiny and at $15 a dish we were both expecting something slightly more substantial for our money.
Again, coffee was excellent. Could not fault the coffee, but I think the food needs to be given a little bit of love.
PS. I had to listen to my partner complain about being hungry after spending $40 on lunch

This is a very old establishment in the main street of Nuriootpa, and a favourite. There are historic photographs on the walls. It has a wide range of cakes and savouries, and an extensive dining section. We come for morning tea, and then again for lunch. I am impressed by the friendliness of the young man who serves us. Our order is brought to our table and all is satisfactory. This is a good place to come!

We had a 3 day break in the Barossa recently and had lunch, sitting outside with our wee dog. The range of food was extensive, beautifully displayed and looked mouthwatering. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and the service was fantastic. The lunch was delicious and we chose to buy different food for lunch to take away for next day. The cakes were sumptuous.

Fast friendly service although it took quite a while to choose from the huge selection of cakes, pastries both sweet and savoury.I ended up deciding on a couple of kitcheners and bread products to take home. Authentic German Food which is always delicious.!
