Love the whole area. There is so much to see, do and experience.
So many wonderful places to visit, definately need at least a few days there to see at least a good portion of what is there

What can I say. Magnificent scenery. Old areas, just beautiful. Views of coastline, over paddocks and quaint little old towns

Moonta,Moonta Bay,Pt.Hughes,Wallaroo & Kadina are about 2 hours drive north from the city of Adelaide. These towns are very close together, roughly 15 minutes apart in the shape of a triangle.Moonta, with it's old copper mines established by miners predominantly from Cornwall is it's main attraction.Pt.Hughes a few minutes away with a long jetty and a fine sandy beach is now home to a links golf course of only 9 holes at the moment with a cafe.Greg Norman "The Shark" has had a lot to do with its development,From here a short drive will take you to Moonta Bay, which has a long jetty and seawater pool with shark protection in the from of netting. The beach here is safe with crystal clear water.Wallaroo where the copper ore was smeltered is a grain port ,fishing fleet port and ferry service port for crossing Spencer Gulf. This large jetty as with others is ideal for fishing and catching Blue Swimmer Crabs in nets. There is also the "Copper Cove Marina" and modern accommodation with bar and restaurant, which would have to be the best in the area. The town has a large beach called "North Beach" which can be driven on and a smaller beach nearer the jetty called "Office Beach" which are ideal for bathing. This area is currentlt being upgraded with an historical walk and pleasant BBQ facilities with shelter and grass..About 10 minutes away by car is the biggest town of them all called Kadina where mining also took place at "Wallaroo MInes".For lunch we ate at the Moonta Hotel in George St.. the main street in Moonta. The fish meals we had were good value as there was plenty of fish on the plate as well as salad and bread. This trip can be easily done in a day,but if you like fishing, bathing, golf, visting historical sites would allow at least 2 days.Perhaps Wallaroo with it's accommodation by the marina would offer the best in the area.
