We had the set ‘quick lunch’, which was available still even though it was a public holiday (Good Friday), so that was good.
We give full marks on every tasty mouthful of the pork tacos, the steak and egg dish (with really flavoursome zappy salsa) the glasses of house rosé and the additional plate of padron peppers that thankfully we convinced ourselves we could manage to fit in!!! They had great peppery punch coupled with sweet pear juiciness. A really clever dish!
We can’t be so enthusiastic about the shared salad that was served with the quick lunch - just a bowl of lettuce and onion. We cannot stand Spanish Onion at the best of times, so whilst that is of course a personal preference, we couldn’t believe the HUGE quantity of onion, how that lettuce could be so drowned in oil and how it just showed absolutely no imagination, unlike the other wonderful dishes…..so we wondered if it might have even come from some other kitchen!!??
Anyway, the salad won’t stop us from returning. The place is fantastic and offers such a fun point of difference in the Barossa. And we have to return for some of those eye popping little desserts in the cabinet. They looked amazing!
