We had been recommended this place by a local .

When we arrived there was a large cooking class going on which seemed to cause a big distraction to front of house . We ordered 2 pastries and 2 coffees - one with soy milk - the lady said she was out of soy milk and recommended we go next door for coffee ( what !!). I said but we have been recommended to you .

Anyhow she relented and sent a staff member to the shops to retrieve some milk .

When it all came out it was very good but I didn’t appreciate the attitude and you need to decide are you a cafe or a cooking school. Cause it’s very hard to do both well .

Hi annedade, I must apologise, however no where on our communications does it say we are a cafe. We are a cooking school & enoteca. and our signage does state that. Our "large" cooking class was/is 8 guests and yes they take priority first thing in the morning to have their coffee and cake before moving into the kitchen for their class. Sometimes there are a few things we need to sort out at the start, particularly with covid restrictions in place. We do offer coffee, tea & hot chocolate plus house made treats using the best local produce we can find on the weekends, however we have limited seating and cannot offer everything a cafe does.
I wasn't rude or unfriendly, just flat out!

Starting the day without good coffee isn't a concern if you can pop into Casa Carboni. Great atmosphere and service. Definitely will come again.

The menu was small but everything was clearly made from fresh produce, evident in the flavour. The suggested wine pairing was perfect. Service was friendly and prompt. Couldn't fault a thing. Such a lovely experience. Would highly recommend to anyone.

We visited Casa Carboni a few weeks ago for their Friday night set menu dinner. Each dish was more delicious than the last - I wish I had taken photos to help remember them all! Fiona was also lovely and helped us select a bottle of wine from their European wine collection. Chef Matteo also came over to visit each table and chat a bit about the food. A very cosy restaurant on the main street in Angaston - highly recommend if you are in the are on a Friday evening.

Enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Casa Carboni - such good food, using local produce and ingredients - house made pasta, bread and cakes and great coffee. Really interesting selection of wines predominantly from Italy and France. Service from Matteo and Fiona was attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly. A brilliant lunch or dinner stop while in the Barossa.
