My wife and I had a great dining experience at Casa Carboni!
Chef Matteo delighted us with wonderful ravioli and tagliatelle, prepared in accordance to the Italian tradition but using the amazing local ingredients that South Australia can offer.
Thanks to Fiona as well, who made us feel like home!
Strongly recommended!!!

The food here is deceptively simple but it’s by no means run-of-the-mill Italian fare. We had a three course lunch matched by some very fine wine recommendations, showcasing the best local produce.

Simply, it’s just a wonderful spot to sit and enjoy some exceptionally fine and flavorful cooking, or a good coffee. There’s a range of homewares on offer and the team also offers cooking classes. One was finishing up just as we arrived for lunch.

I can’t think of too many better options for lunch in the Barossa.

Not one for watching cooking shows, I prefer hands on cooking classes, and having eaten at Casa Carboni just prior to Christmas we decided to experience the Casa Carboni Italian cooking class with 3 friends. We started off at the Angaston markets with Matteo looking at the local produce, which is one of the local Barossa places he sources his fresh produce from, then headed back to the restaurant for a great morning coffee before getting stuck into making pasta and desert. The class highlighted how easy pasta is to make by following the simple processes we learnt that day. Matteo made the class fun with his quick wit and hands on learning. We found that Matteo is more than willing to adjust the class to accommodate dietary requirements. Of course the best part of the class is eating what we had produced while sampling a bottle of wine that Matteo and Fiona had sourced from Italy. Fiona runs the front of house and it is a smooth operation. Both are extremely friendly and approachable which is a large part of the experience. Would highly recommend visiting for a coffee or meal if you can't do the class.

Casual and relaxing place for a good coffee. Food was very limited, however could be due to the timing of our visit. Coffee available in one size only bit still worth the stop.

Ciao CarolineGirke,
thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
We bake daily and as we only have one chef (Matteo) there is a limit to what we can offer - however always with the best local ingredients and delicious!

Attended with family including two teenage grandsons. We all enjoyed the experience, friendly service. Great food. The wines are sourced by the owner each year when travelling back to Europe. Family owned and run.
