Little Italy right here in Angaston. This is Fiona and Matteo's home and you are treated a guest in their home!
Food is authentic Italian and the coffee is superb. If you want a schnitzel go to the pub next door, if you want home cooked Italian food made with love, fresh seasonal produce and service with a smile (and some divine wine imports!) - Casa Carboni is the place to be! It is my first choice when friends and family come to visit me in Angaston x

The Cooking Class "A Taste of Italy" is a true Italian culinary experience. My Mum is full Italian, my Dad's mother also Italian and so I ate, spoke and lived Italian at home. The day with chef, Matteo Carboni taught me so much about cooking and about the region Matteo came from, Romagnola. He simplified so many processes as well as hints for food you can prepare and freeze for the times when you're busy but stil want a decent meal. My wife and I had a great time and looking forward to not only trying the recipes we cooked today, but creating further dishes with the principles Matteo taught us. If you enjoy cooking, do yourself a favour and book at least on session with this man who learnt his art from his grandmother before going on and obtaining a degree in food technology.

I went with a friend for Sunday lunch to check this place out after reading about the cooking school - hoping to go to that when I move to the region later this year. The restaurant itself is wonderful - inviting and interesting! The Sunday lunch menu is a set menu (with choices) that show cases the previous days Farmer's Market and SA seafood. Matteo and Fiona are great hosts and the food was excellent, as was the wine. We had a great time and look forward to going back again.
