“Wonderful honeymoon getaway!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2012

We stayed here for the second part of our honeymoon in May 2012, and loved everything about the place. The set dinner was fantastic 5 star - we were seated next to our own fire place. Each morning we overlook the landscaped lawn to a cooked 5 star breakfast, it was amazing!!

I forgot to mention the outdoor, but undercover, spa - with it's in built speakers. That spa certainly hit every spot. And I recommend a second visit to the spa after the dinner to relax.

We recommend staying here for anyone wanting to get a away for the week or a couple of days. The owners Andrew and Marcie are very hospitable, give you a lot of insight about the history of the homestead, a lot I insight about the local Barossa wines and some great cellar doors to visit, and provide some good laughs!

The rooms were extremely well presented and furnished. And being cold in mid May, the room was kept very warm for us on arrival.

We'd love to find an excuse to visit again and have a function here.

Zack and Kristina.

We had a blissfully relaxing overnight visit to Collingrove Homestead. The spa was divine and the grounds and interiors were delightful. The lovely host, Zac, made a gorgeous degustation dinner, in classic French style. Barely a step wrong in all the courses, it was one of the best meals we've had in South Australia, and a pleasant surprise out in the Barossa. Zac kindly shared some of his experiences as a chef and working in France, and it was a nice touch to have items from his travels, such as the steak knives, to use. Breakfast the next morning was also delish! We intend to return as soon as possible and would recommend Collingrove Homestead to anyone who enjoys a quiet stay and fantastic food.

We recently stayed at Collingrove Homestead in Angaston to cerebrate our anniversary. It was the perfect choice. Our hosts Marcia, Andrew and Zac made our stay so enjoyable.
The accommodation was delightful and Marcia gave us a very informative tour of the historic homestead and made us feel very welcome and comfortable.
We enjoyed relaxing in the guest lounge room in front of an open fire on the wet afternoons. The spa was a real treat, situated in the old stables with candles and music, very romantic.
Our special dinner was the highlight, 6 courses over 4 hours, every course was perfect, beautifully presented and delicious, thank you Zac, our chef and Andrew for the service and local information on all the wines accompanying the meal.
We plan to return in 10 years!

Marcia was a great host, very generous with her hositality. She pretty much organised my honeymoon for me!
The guest rooms were luxurious whilst keeping with it's historical roots.

My husband booked us to stay at Collingrove as a surprise first anniversary trip. I was very impressed in general with the gorgeous historic homestead, the hosts Marcie, Andrew, along with chef Zac were all lovely, helpful and informative. We stayed in the School House room in a oh so comfortable french provincial bed, the only thing amiss is as others have mentioned there is no tea/coffee available in the room itself, we did have some in the guest lounge though and Marcie lit a nice warm fire for us to sit by in there.
We dined inhouse - a 6 course menu from Zac which I could not rate highly enough, it is very rare for us to eat a 6 course meal and not find fault with any part of it! My husband had the accompanying wines which were well matched and generously poured. The breakfast next morning was also well done and very satisfying. I am currently pregnant and at both meals Marcie was attentive and asked if I needed any changes made or wanted something particular such as doing my steak a little more medium well rather than rare and scrambling my eggs instead of poaching them which was very thoughtful.
Overall a completely charming country stay and a very special anniversary for us!
