Planned on a stay here as we passed thru on a trip in 2001 , and it's now very run down . A good place to fuel the tanks and read the old paraphernalia on ufo's ' then drive to Devils Marbles Hotel & caravan park which is fabulous .

Stayed: April 2018

Rundown. Disgraceful. Dirty. You only visit once. Everything broken. Cold showers. Cabin ceilings hanging down. Termites eating all the buildings. Infested. Communication with Indian franchisees is non existent.

Forced to stay here for work. Couldn’t shower because the floor was coated in brown filth. Every aspect of the facility is putrid and the owner does not care less when informed. DO NOT STAY HERE. The accommodation needs shutting down.

We stayed here during our trip moving our family from Cairns to Alice Springs. We did try to stay in a cabin at the Devils Marbles Hotel but they were booked out. So we phoned and booked a 'cabin' at Wycliffe. When we arrived there had been some confusion as there isn't actually any cabins there, just motel rooms. Which would have been fine but the reason we wanted a cabin is because we were travelling with two Great Danes who obviously are not welcome to sleep in a motel room.
BUT the gentleman at the front counter was very helpful and showed us where we could tie our dogs up outside the motel room in the outdoor seating area. And this was fine, the dogs were happy and it was a problem solved. The room was clean and tidy. The grounds were for the most part well maintained. The pool was closed and I don't know what the communal amenities were like as our room had an ensuite, but on the whole I thought it was an ok place to stay. Nothing fancy but is that really the most important thing when you're out in the sticks? We were just happy to have a comfy, clean room and a place for our dogs to sleep.

Stopped to get fuel then decided to stay as it looked cool because of the UFO stuff...how quickly that changed. As we were setting up the camper trailer the locals started fighting so management had to lock the barb wire gates...then 2 donkeys were left unattended so in the middle of the night they charged my dogs. And the mosquitoes were eating us alive. I then needed to use the toilets but they were absolutely disgusting...i walked back and urinated in the camper trailer in a bottle rather than use them and used a wet wipe to shower. Paid 30 for a powered site and the souvenirs were expensive. The only good thing we got out of it was the knowledge to never go back.
