“An excellent walking night market for people to shop, eat, walking, having fun together.”

Huangxing Road Walking Street
Reviewed 28 May 2018

I booked NOMO Apartment via Booking.com. It's about 100 meter walking away from this street. Apartment itself is very clean, efficient, furnished with microwave, fridge. washer, very convenient for light cooking and laundry. It's a secured apt where you must have keys to access in. From apt, you can take a 5 min walk to get to Huangxing Road, where the night market is. This place is very much similar to most of night markets in most Asia countries or most of major cities in China; however, it's a little more organized and cleaner in which food courts are located itself in certain areas, not along the road as seen in most other night markets. This helps the walking road look more hygienic and cleaner. This place has all kinda of things from common street foods to luxury restaurants, vendors to supermarkets. It even have clubs/bars as well. People dancing and singing and instrument playing along the road is not rare to be seen.
Besides the most common BBQ sticks seen everywhere in Asia night markets, you can find many other ethnic foods from Japan, Korea, Mongolia, India. Whoever like fried rices, don't miss out the Mr.Fun kiosk, locates in several food courts, where the chefs can show you the spectacular ways of cooking and seasoning your tasty dishes.
So don't miss out this place when visit Changsha. It's about 50 min away from Changsha airport (cost about 130RMB) but it's worth to visit.

Lots of shops and small eateries. Also has a nicer mall ID Mall situated there. If you want to try authentic black stinky tofu, I was recommended by a local to eat at 黑色经典 along this stretch.

Really nice street with loads of food establishments. There's something here to suit all tastes and lots of tempting snacks everywhere. It has a nice relaxed feel about It, we just wandered along in the evening, tried some snacks, had a beer and stopped for a meal, returning for a coffee in the morning. There are little alleys off the main street and its eorth investigating them too. I definitely recommend a visit.

This is similar to the beijing road or nanjing road in Shanghai or other big city in China. There are plenty to see, mainly food stalls where you can try local cuisine, such as stinky tofu. There also plenty of shops selling shoes, clothing and local souvenirs. Worth to spend at least an evening to soak in the local culture. However if not sufficient time, nothing much to miss.

This is a must-see place in Changsha. We came here in taxis and were shocked by the crowds. Lots to see and shop, from new department stores to old traditional stinky tofu places. Too bad we did not have much time to explore but did have a chance to dine at HouGongDian for the authentic Hunan cuisine.
