I have considered Sleep Inn Hotels a good value; usually clean, full breakfast, and descent rooms. I was most disappointed in my stay at the Sleep Inn in Morganton, NC, however.
While the front desk staff tried to be helpful, they couldn't provide much. A continental breakfast was advertised, but no breakfast was provided. Understanding that COVID has placed limitations on businesses, individually wrapped muffins, or yogurt could be provided. They didn't even have coffee or tea! I heated water and brought my own tea bags but the desk could not provide sweetener. Finally, after venting my frustration, Lynn, the night clerk dug into a personal stash and provided me w/sweetener.
We ran out of facial tissue and was told they were completely out.
Our bathroom door would not close all the way. Maintenance looked at it but said they could not repair it until we checked out.
Upon check out, the manager acknowledged my frustration and admitted that they receive a "lot of complaints".
Morganton is growing. New hotels have opened and more are in the process. This Sleep Inn will need to up its game to compete.
