I can see now why the Hampton Inn in town has such high rates ... because the other options are not so great - the Comfort Inn included. Booked for a work trip. Arrived around 9 pm ready to call it a night. Room was on the first floor. When I got to the room noticed the curtain would not close all the way leaving a gap. Not the best scenario for a woman traveling alone. Also there were crumbs in both chairs in the room, which immediately makes you question just how clean the room really is. Went to the front desk desk. The clerk was kind but refused to move me to another room at the government rate. Not that they’re weren’t more rooms available, but that he didn’t have any left at the government rate, nor would upgrade due to the status of the room. He also said I could not go to another hotel as I would still be charged for the room regardless of the curtain or dirty chairs. He then came back to the room, saw the curtains would not close and at my suggestion took paper clips to close them because I wasn’t going to sleep with someone being able to see in. He saw the crumbs on both chairs and dismissed as the cleaning staff was just in a hurry that day and he would make note of it. And honestly, he should have NEVER walked into a single, female guest’s room unaccompanied or at least without leaving the door open. It made me feel very uncomfortable. I had read several reviews before booking that said this property while older was very clean. I however, did not find that to be the case. The pic shows crumbs on the chair after I had brushed much of them off. How do you miss that?

So, we set out on this honeymoon, but we were too tired from work to do all the activities we had planned. Luckily we stayed at Comfort because they have an amazing room - its a suite really - with areas for sleeping, tv watching, arts and crafts, catching up on work (yeah, right !!! ;-P ) and that's just the room. In the hotel, there's a pool - a million nice little sitting areas, lemon-infused ice water whenever you want it, an outdoor porch/patio, and from the lobby, you look up and see an open area on the second floor with a beautiful wrought iron railing and some stylish lounging furniture... it feels fancy, even if that's just compared to what i'm used to. And the BEST part is Nate!! He's the guy at the desk and he is awesome and friendly and resourceful and helpful and he really really does want us to "Enjoy the Comfort". And we totally did!
