Check in was easy, and hostess was friendly. AC unit was very loud when cycling on. There were some gross stains in the carpet, and when I got in the shower, there was MOLD on the inside of the shower curtain. Gross! When we went in for breakfast, and to check out, a male clerk didn't speak, he just walked out the back door, and never came back. I just dropped my keys on the desk and left.
The lady at the desk was very nice and helpful with dining options (pizza delivered!) and we got a great rate.
But the room wasn't cleaned very well: water bottle cap and food crumbs still on the floor, the appliances felt kinda sticky, and the room info cards just need replaced (even lamented they were just gross). Pool has chipped and misaligned tiles.
The hotel is older and so has stains/damage and we could still smell the cigarettes in our non-smoking room. But my son was happy with the wifi and the old TV still had a good picture quality.
We were greeted by cockroaches and an awful smell upon entering the hotel room. We approached the front desk approximately 20 minutes after first entering the room to let them know that we could not stay under such deplorable conditions. They refused to issue a refund. We ended up staying at Comfort Inn. It’s no fun paying for a room you cannot use!
My girlfriend, niece and grand daughter stayed at this hotel on the way to the beach on May 28, 2017. When we got home and check the bank account, I noticed an extra charge of $50. I called to ask why and was told by the manager (Mike) that a housekeeper had seen a white dog in their room. They did NOT have a pet of any kind with them. When I tried to explain this to Mike he was very rude and called me a liar. And refused to refund my $50. He was also very rude to my girlfriend when she called to explain that she didn't have a pet. I was also told they found pet hair in the room. By the pictures I will share you will see that the room doesn't look like it had been cleaned in a month.

I am concerned about the pet issue you had mentioned in your review. I understand that you were unhappy with the additional cleaning fee assessed to your room. My staff and I had observed a pet being removed from your room upon your departure. In addition, we had to incur an additional cleaning of the room to remove all of the pet hair left behind. We do have certain rooms which are reserved as pet friendly so that other guests who may be allergic are not affected during their stay. If you would have mentioned this at check in, we would have gladly placed you in one of the pet rooms. I am sorry that we could not meet your expectations.

Some of these reviews are probably a little too harsh on this place. Here are a few things that I think are a fair assessment between the fair critical assessment & the overly critical.
Firstly a few good points. We stayed here Saturday night & the Hotel was not overly crowded & it was quite. From my experiences a quite Hotel on a Saturday night is a good thing.
It's literally right off the Highway, close to a restaurant & gas station. The Wifi worked well for our purposes but you probably won't be streaming Hi Def. shows or quickly downloading.
The breakfast is okay, nothing to boast about. The fruit was fresh & there was a small variety to choose from such as bread, muffins, cereal, juice, coffee & Tea.
Now for a few things that could be better. The man behind the desk was a bit of a harsh personality but definitely not the tyrant that others described him as. I certainly would not classify him as professional either. He was not rude to me but was interested in a very lengthy conversation about lot's of things that I wasn't quite as interested in.
As for the room & rate: the room was very dated but the place appeared to be clean & I certainly didn't see any insects. The rate I felt was a little high for the amenities offered, being right around the eighty dollar range for double bed, 3 people & non-smoking.
Overall, I'm not disappointed & if your looking for a place to stay I don't think this is a bad option for an overnighter.
