We hadnt booked anywhere for our touring holiday, and as we planned to stay during a weekend we were advised to find somewhere in advance. We found this hotel in a internet search whilst en route to the Outer Banks and it was the cheapest we could find that wasn't fully booked.
On our arrival to the outer banks we realised what a lovely area and hotel it was so decided to stay an extra night. For the second night the only room available was one with a sea view which was a higher price but we decided to bite the bullet and upgraded for both nights which. After touring the Southern states for a couple of weeks it was the best decision we could have made.
The hotel was stunning, the staff amazing very polite, professional and helpful and friendly. The rooms were beautiful and we'll worth the extra cost, a full windows with balcony very comfortable beds big bathroom and basic kitchen facilities.
Whilst we didn't use the pool it seemed popular with classes at times.
The bar/restaurant was very nice with lovely staff and beautiful food (husband is vegetarian so relief that there were dishes he could eat too).
The beach was easily accessible from the hotel and was stunning.
We had a vehicle, however the Wright Brothers museum was very close as was a lot of shops and activities.
Would highly recommend the hotel, and definitely a sea view room!!

We always get oceanfront, and the extra money you pay is SO worth it. I always tell people Sea Ranch has the best view hands down. Also, at the restaurant, happy hour is great-I think 25 cent wings (minimum of 6) and 50 cent shrimp maybe? Either way, a great deal and with their $5 sangria you can get full for less than $20. We recently stayed in one of the condos, and although we didn't use any of the accessories, having them their was a great option for those with kids or who stay multiple nights. Definitely recommend oceanfront though, watching the sunset and dolphins swim around is amazing

Room Tip: Oceanfront has AMAZING views. (2nd floor is like you're on top of the ocean) Also, happy hour is such a good deal!

The Sea Ranch Resort is a great place to stay when visiting OBX. There are several off season rates that are extremely low and very competitive. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The Beachside Bistro si a beachside restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is wonderful and is not expensive. I highly recommend the condo style rooms with two bedrooms and two baths with a full kitchen. Be sure to check it out the next time you need to rent a place in OBX.

Upon arrival the desk clerk continued her conversation for about a minute before she acknowledged us.
When we walked up to the room we could smell smoke...but if you smoke that's ok, I don't have a problem with that. When we came back out for dinner, the smell of pot smoke was heavy....ok, so somebody is "relaxing".
After returning, we like to leave the door open to hear the waves, but couldn't because they people who were smoking pot had to be extremely close as the smell filled our room heavily.
To each his own...but I feel if the grounds were walked the management could have caught this.
The toilet was dirty. But, it's a beach hotel...kids playing on the elevator kept it tied up...
I would stay somewhere else next time....but I'm sure it's a good business otherwise.

Room Tip: Higher the better

Everyone was very helpful. Great views from the balcony. Excellent service in the restaurant. Entertainment was a very nice addition in a rainy evening. Very family oriented with extras offered for kids.
My family was treated very well. Overall great place to stay.
