Rooms were clean and okay. Beds were good and there was plenty of hot water. Breakfast was medicore but adequate.
Restaurant across the street was fabulous!
Did not have an ocean view room but ocean was about 100 steps away.

Room Tip: Ask for ocean view room

Thanks for your feedback. Come back again and try the oceanfront rooms. We will pass on the breakfast feedback to our F&B team as we are always looking for ways to improve our customer experience. And yes, we agree, the Kill Devil Grill is the best of the beach!

Beach front. Lower level. Room 503. Open curtains and slide open the door to hear and see the ocean. Pet friendly. Super nice breakfast staff was helpful in local activities. Stayed here 2 times. Next visit was second floor ocean view. Safe. Secure. Clean. Helpful. Best deal we couldn't find

Room Tip: Ocean view or ocean front great value

Stayed one night while working. Easy access to the beach. Rooms are dated and funky. Great for spring break not so much families. Why do hotels call some cheap prepackaged muffins and warm coffee a free breakfast? Spend a little more and stay at the chains up the road if you're with the family. By myself it was adequate.

This is an economical spot right on the beach. The rooms are clean, comfortable and enjoyable. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Management, however, is a bit tone deaf.
We made are reservations months ago for spring break with a credit card at about $20/day above current price.

Issues include:

1) pool was closed for repair, other hotels pools were open. What happened in March?
2) renovation construction was underway. What happened in March?
3)shower water pressure was a mere drip
4)continental breakfast breakfast (hard boiled eggs, cold cereal, bagels & coffee. Milk & OJ on request) was good but no place to sit because the room was under renovation. What happened in March?
5)dumpster parked adjacent to 50% of the handicapped rooms. Shades of United Airlines even though there was 5 or 6 nonobjectional spots for the dumpster. When we objected to this disrespect they tried to up charge an additional $10 per night for an acceptable room as a reservation change. Resolved satisfactorily.

Would stay here again but would check to insure all issues but water pressure were resolved in advance.

Thanks for your feedback. We are continuing to work to improve our guest experience - including major work every offseason. This year we did major upgrades to pool area, with new pool furniture to showcase soon as well! We don't open the pool typically until mid May, and are careful to disclose that to April renters - though with this weather we understand the want to go in! Other upgrades include new carpeting, new sidewalks and interior hallway updates. We do hope you come back and see us this summer as we celebrate our 55th year in business!

Staff was very nice, professional and accommodating, quickly taking care of our issues (stopped up sink), breakfast was average, but no place to eat, breakfast room was closed, food served in lobby. Room smelled of smoke when first entered, needed to go and personally buy Fabreeze, walls are paper thin, we could hear the normal level conversation in the adjoining room. Pets are fun, until they are in the room next door and you want to sleep and they are barking. Beach access was awesome, beds are comfortable, but room wasn't cleaned at all for our entire stay.

Thanks for your feedback. 100% of our guest rooms are non-smoking, so there should be no smoking odor at all. We offer complete guest satisfaction and would have been happy to move you to another guest room. We also offer 2 of our 4 building that don't allow pets so hopefully next time you stay with us we can put you in the non pet buildings (both of which offer unobstructed ocean views).
