Concern grows at check-in when you are asked to pay a USD 100 deposit 'in case you damage the room.' There is a warning about ongoing renovations. The room was absolutely disgusting...only partially cleaned, with bags of soiled towels and garbage lurking in corners, cupboards, and on the doorstep...thick greasy dust lining the cupboards....dirty and cracked tiles in the shower...and damaged plumbing and other fixtures. Judging by the strong, acrid paint fumes, this room may have been renovated...but not to any interior design style that I am familiar with...dark khaki walls with deep green and brown tones. This added to my depressed mood. To the credit of the front desk personnel, she came and tried to clean up the worst of the mess and maintained a smile despite working in this dilapidated ruin of a hotel. This is a hotel that must surely be on the precipice of closing. The nearby strip mall still has a CVS, Harris Teeter, Breuggers Bagels, and a cinema...although the strip mall also looks like it has seen better days, with ~50% of shops vacant. A great place to experience life in decline, while enjoying a bagel.

Room Tip: As to see the room first, to assess its state of disrepair and whether or not it has been cleaned.

This is not a very good property!! Rooms are aged, smell funny, paint peeling, bathrooms a mess and overall beat up. Bed was marginal at best. Patrons next door decided to have a 15 cuss out conversation outside my room. I had to politely ask them to move on. Hotel in a suspect area. Front desk personnel was very helpful and nice.

Room Tip: Try another hotel

The staff at this hotel ate awesome! They genuinely care about the guest and are extremely helpful and polite. The hotel is clean and near everything. The rates are reasonable and the staff makes it easy to pay. I would recommend this hotel to everyone traveling in the area.

Well there is a assistant Mgr here named Candace that is the most cheerfull, helpfull, kind considerate and dedicated to my pleasant stay. And folks I've stayed at this ESA for over a year. They are about to get a renovation and i'm very excited cause from what I'v seen it's going to look very modern very hip. Can't wait. The bottom line is, they're great. They try to get to know you by name and see to your needs. And the price is unbeatable!

Room Tip: I suggest 2nd floor in the back as they are quieter,
