As good as it gets, for an outdoor person; a room right above the river, so you can fall asleep feeling like you're camping (without rain or bugs!). The river noise also covers up any traffic noise from the road; most of the other motels and B&Bs on this road are much further from the river, and closer to the road.
Stayed here several nights on a business trip. Nice quiet location. Breakfasts are very generous; be sure to tell Sharon if you have a small appetite! Cookies/snacks in the room each afternoon are a nice extra touch.
Lots of activities close by; hiking in the state park, boating/swimming in the lake nearby, etc.. It's easy to go for a long walk or run along streets with almost no traffic.
For eating out at night, the restaurants close by are really mixed. Some are plain awful (Genny's; Mexican place south of village); others are great (Italian place by the beach; restaurant at the big fancy hotel by the beach). No grocery store in the village, just convenience store.
The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the price; everything else was great.
