The Esmeralda Inn was a wonderful place for a restful getaway!! My husband & I visit a B&B every year for our anniversary, & this was the BEST we have stayed in so far! The Honeymoon cottage was just the right size, extraordinarily clean, and the staff was so hospitable. They really go out of their way for anything you need & the whole inn was clean & welcoming!! The breakfast & dinner are exceptional too!! The gardens are gorgeous. We will definitely be back. Thanks so much for sharing your Inn with us.

We chose this place initially to its proximity to Chimney Rock. Wife and I went for our 25th Anniversary, and we enjoyed every minute of it! It exceeded our expectations, from the front desk staff, we got to know, to the restaurant wait staff. All were very helpful, friendly, courteous and attentive to whatever we needed. The rooms were comfortable and very clean, they do a good job in the overall presentation of this wonderful inn. I love the rustic ambiance. I can see why people choose to hold weddings and receptions here. Met another couple also on their anniversary. Amenities were terrific. The second floor had a very nice game room complete with pool table, poker table, foozball, couch to make you feel at home and relaxed, and you could serve yourself something in the kitchen break room. We did not try the outdoor hot tub to have any opinion. We need to especially mention the Chef and kitchen staff. The food was gourmet, I never expected the included breakfast to be works of art. You got a new selection (3) every morning to choose from, it was interesting to see what would be offered the next day. Dinner, wine, and beer selections also worth a mention, you would be hard pressed to find anything worthy of a refined palette elsewhere, than at this Inn, again kudos to the Exec Chef and the staff. You can be seated inside or outside to enjoy their nice patio and gardens surrounding the Inn.Again thanks to Amanda, Molly, Chase, Kim for making our trip very memorable and enjoyable. I ended up buying their coffee mug as a souvenir.

For me, cleanliness is a priority, and I am super picky! So that is what my searches always entail on trip advisor! This inn does NOT disappoint. Bathrooms and every corner of this inn is VERY VERY clean. I was surprised at how quiet the inn was. There was a wedding party staying at the inn for our visit and many of them were young but it didn't bother us at all. Wherever we went, it was so quiet! It's a beautiful inn, the hot tub is large and a perfect temperature with fresh towels on location. The breakfast was wonderful. We have 4 children and the game room is a fabulous hang out spot!!! Fuseball, pool, dominos table, poker table, a kitchen with snacks to purchase...a great place to just hang out. Chimney Rock was a blast. The drive to the inn was beautiful. Staff all remarkably friendly and warm. If I could give 6 stars, I would. We will definitely come back to visit. We were only there for one night but we missed it immediately upon leaving, it felt like we were leaving family. Love this very special place!

My wife and I, at the last minute, decided to get away for our 37th wedding anniversary. Hadn't been to Chimney Rock/ Lake Lure area and decided to try the Esmeralda. Excellent choice. Lovely grounds, gracious staff, beautifully maintained, excellent food, and breath-taking views. We also selected the horse backing riding package which was very enjoyable and the couples massage package which was divine. On the day we checked out we did the Lake Lure boat tour on our own. We opted for a queen view room. Our room was small. Not unusual for an historic property. For us that was not a problem since the second floor game area had plenty of space as did the various porches and decks. But some guests may want to consider one of the larger King or King Suites if they need more space or a sitting area. This is a wonderful property that is competitively priced and will not disappoint. The perfect location to explore the Chimney Rock and Lake Lure areas. Truly a scenic getaway.
