We entered and stood by the sign that read “Please wait to be seated.” There were many empty tables, and both waitresses saw us but just kept talking to people at their tables. We were there for at least we minutes getting ignored. We left. Won’t go back if ever in the area again.

We drove across the Smokey Mountains on Easter Sunday, and were very hungry once we hit the other side. We were in Cherokee and looking for a local place to eat. Paul's is local, and its a place to eat, but we were not thrilled with it. The facility is not clean and the service was really, really slow. Perhaps it was due to the holiday, but we just did not feel very welcome. On the good side, I did have very tasty fried green tomatoes, plus moderately good frogs legs. The soup was homemade and reasonably good, but the rest of the meals were mediocre. Not terrible, but just not very good. Too bad.

The fried trout was better than the grilled. Food was relatively inexpensive. Fats, friendly, and the waitress was helpful. I would try it again.

We stopped for lunch and while the people who worked there were incredibly friendly and the food was fresh and tasty, we had to wait over an hour for our food. We didn’t order anything fancy, soup, sandwiches, and a burger. Maybe it was because it was Easter Sunday, but the kitchen was extremely slow. Still, when everything came out it was hot and fresh. For something different try the fry bread! We liked that it had an Indian menu and also incredible desserts. Our only complaint is how long it took to get our food.
