Rooms are tired. Lights are very blue tinted LED bulbs. Shower and bath are old, but mostly clean. Dinner was pretty lousy. Shuttle to from the airport was prompt. Service at check in and the restaurant was good.

The thing I don’t like though is that Sheraton, like a lot of hotels, does the blanket sandwich thing. So most of the time I like that, but this is the second Sheraton where the grungy middle blanket was out enough for me to see it and possibly be cuddling up to it. I rearranged the blankets so it was hidden again. Really, the thing is that the middle blanket should still be new and clean looking so it doesn’t feel like they’re covering up the dirties.

Good Day Sir:

When we arrive the door man was very pleasant.

The registration desk clerk convinced us to pay $30 more a night to upgrade our room to the top floor and receive Hors d'oeuvres and breakfast. She stated the Hors d'oeuvres were so nice they would replace anyone's dinner. I told the clerk I was a vegan and she said they have a variety of food for everybody.

WRONG!

They had chicken tenders and very little fruit. Nor did they replenish the fruit....

Sunday morning breakfast was worst! I went to the Carolina Panthers game hungry.....
So did others because the gentlemen started throwing food away and emptying the juice at 8:50 a.m. and everyone was told it ended at 9:00 a.m.

We checked out on Monday and guest who arrived at 8:55 a.m. were out of luck. They lady started dismantling things at 8:50 a.m. The staff was also serving milk on September 10 that expired on September 8!

We handed the out of date carton of milk to the clerk as we checked out.

We also told her about the mold on the bathroom wall in room 831 and the bathtub drain was SLOW letting water out.

This is our first negative experience at a Sheraton....

Our suggestion is;
1. train your staff to address the mold and slow drains in the bathrooms
2. Train your staff not to exaggerate about upgrades
3. If the breakfast is over at 9:00 a.m. then dismantle at 9:00 a.m. and not 8:50 a.m.
4. Check for expiration dates on food, especially dairy products

My husband and I are fortunate enough to be able to travel weekly, and in doing so we stay at spg properties exclusively.this weekend took us to Charlotte house hunting for relocation.we have stayed at this property many times, but todays check in was anything but smooth.Upon arrival at approximately 3:20ish, we were greeted asked for ID and the usual follow up questions. Our email confirmation confirmed that check in was at 3 however we were asked to come back because there had been late check outs and early checkins therefore no clean rooms were available. We are platinum members and have been for years. We were then told we can put uou on a dirty room and they clean it as they get too it. Lol seriously. We quietly left the property and rode around for our hr after driving 5hrs to get to charlotte. We arrived openedvthe door to our room and were greeted by overwelming cigarette smoke. We called to have housekeeping refresh the room at which time orlando in guest services voluntarily offered to comp our donner for the inconvenience. When we arrived downstairs and inquired anout dinner with orlando he claimed to need his memory refreshed.we waited for approximately 15 mins at which time mgr. Christina asked my husband how may i help you. Shevwent on to say well we already gave you 1000 points for checkin and what is it u are wanting. We never asked or demanded anything we came at the oofering of your employee.so i have to say training within a corporation goes a long way .thanks but no thanks for handouts that you offer in wolves clothing.

We checked in on a Friday evening around 10:00pm (it would have been much earlier but several traffic delays prevented that). We brought our 4 year old English Bulldog with is for the weekend.

Since we had not yet ate dinner we had to run and get something to eat. Around 11:30pm we got a phone call from our hotel that our dog was barking and that they had 5 complaints. And that dogs are not to be left unattended. We were dumbfounded...typically when people stay in a (PET FRIENDLY) hotel with their dog they’re not going to stay in the room with them the entire time.

We were furious. We had checked with the hotel BEFORE bringing the animal. They assured us that they were pet friendly and even told us that the second floor of the hotel is reserved for people with animals.

NOT ONCE during that phone call OR during check-in was it described to us that we could not leave our animal in this PET FRIENDLY hotel.

We had come in town for a sports event. So NOT leaving the animal was not an option. So, the morning of our sports event we had to call kennels in the area and find one to take our English Bulldog.

Luckily we were able to find one. We explained to the kennel what had happened and they were also dumbfounded by this “pet friendly” hotel.

This is not the first time that we have taken our animal to pet friendly hotels. We have done so for concerts in Pittsburgh etc. we have never received a complaint or been told we were not allowed to leave our dog unattended. If our dog was one to destroy a room etc we would not bring him to hotels.

Prior to staying in this hotel I noticed other reviews stating how thin the walls are—clearly that is a problem in a pet friendly hotel.

The only positive I can say is that the rooms were clean and the bed was nice. But on a return trip to Charlotte we will not be staying in this hotel.

mmcgilton349,

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback of your stay. I apologize that your stay fell short of your expectations. We welcome pets as they are apart of your family. As point of clarification, you are not required to stay in the room with your pet. Typically, we ask that the pet is crated when you leave, and if we do receive noise complains then we would ask you to come back. I will follow up with the Front Office team about this matter. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any further concern. We hope to welcoming you back to the Sheraton Charlotte Airport hotel!

We were driving back from our Florida vacation back to DC and decided to stop in Charlotte for a day. It was the first of very few pet friendly hotels in the area. The lobby was interesting with swimming pool in the middle. We did see a small roach in the room, other then that it was decent.
