My wife and I had driven by this Victorian gingerbread home for over a decade, always saying we are going to stop there one day. Finally for our anniversary, we booked a room for a weekend getaway to the Pinehurst area. I have never felt more immediately at comfort in any inn, the owner is a wonderful hostess. The architectual details of the home are enthralling, the rooms are well appointed, extremely large and the beds are extremely comfortable. The breakfasts were incredibly good. We stayed in the Milliner's room as my wife is an afficianodo of vintage hats-great theme!
The grounds are well kept with magnolias, and gardenias fragrant all about. Nice annual hanging baskets and lots of things to do in the area or just hanging out and talking with the pleasant innkeeper.
No disappointments at all...I spent almost a decade with major hotel chains and this lady understands the meaning of the word "hospitality". Recommend you visit the PiknPig BBQ restaurant on the local airport runway a few miles away and the golf, shopping and restaurants in Pinehurst and Southern Pines are only a stone's throw away.More
