We rented this house for a long weekend -- several adults and a few babies included. Our travel time from Brooklyn was a little over 2 hours, so it's a great getaway that's not too far of a drive. The house itself was really great, and is located in a quiet neighborhood. We were all very comfortable in our bedrooms, and there's plenty of space in the common areas. There's even several items for little ones already in the house. Also, communication with the owner of the house, Joe, was excellent. We had a few questions here and there, and Joe was easy to get a hold of, and in my opinion, he went above and beyond to be responsive. The pool in the back yard looks like it'll be great, but it wasn't quite ready for us. Joe had let us know well in advance that the pool installation might not be complete by the time of our arrival, and that was the case. But whoever rents this house from here on out should be able to look forward to a great pool with nice outdoor furniture. And the location is also just a few minutes drive from the main strip in Woodstock, which has a lot of shops/restaurants and some outdoor markets. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay, and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a getaway from NYC, and would especially recommend it to families with little kids.
The house was a lot bigger than the photos show with 5 good-size bedrooms, lots of open living space, a front and backyard, and located on a quiet cul de sac. Great for families as there appears to be a lot of kid-friendly aspects to the property (toys, bikes, swim gear for little ones), a pool that's gated for safety, and a big fridge and freezer so youre never low on snacks.
The house is also bike riding distance from the center of the Woodstock village and art galleries, and driving distance to Hunter Mountain, etc. Would totally recommend to anyone.
