Stayed 1 night at Cadence Lodge. Was very appreciative as was very hard to find a room available. (Lodge is under renovations.) Owners were very friendly/accommodating. Outside pavilion is a plus, with beautiful fireplace and future wine/beer lisence.

We were looking for a short get away where we could bring our dog and be close to Lake Placid. It is very close to Whiteface. This place is great. Clean rooms, friendly service. We can't wait to come back and see the changes!

I highly recommend it. Located close to Lake Placid, worth visiting for 1-2 days. Clean room, comfy beds, has fridge, micro, toiletries are special-nice touch. Excellent customer service! Join their nightly bonfire. Breakfast is included and it is good, use the newly built deck to have breakfast.

The room and bathroom were very clean and cozy and the staff (I don't remember her name) was so incredibly nice and she was very accommodating. There was a bonfire that was open to everyone staying at the lodge. It had a very homey feeling. My boyfriend and I are hoping to come back to Lake Placid and to stay at this place once again.

We stayed two nights and had a renovated room which was great. It was spacious enough for us and our gear, clean, and cozy and had everything we needed including a mini fridge, free wifi and keurig coffee maker. The location is also a great base for hiking and has a nice outdoors atmosphere.

One of the owners, Shelley, checked us in and was very helpful and friendly. In the evenings a campfire is lit which makes for an enjoyable and relaxing evening outdoors. there is also a fully equipped community kitchen, that had I realized this earlier we probably would have used it. There are also three bikes available for use, however they were already in use when we thought about going for a ride,

The breakfast was awesome...perfect for a hiker; bagels, oatmeal, chia seeds, greek yogurt, hard boiled eggs and fruit. Although it doesn't start until 7:30 AM which is a little late for those who might want to hit the trails a little earlier.

Overall we had a great enjoyable stay, but few things to keep in mind: not rooms are all renovated yet and the owners said they are working to update the whole property bit by bit. Also I found the bed uncomfortable, but obviously not everyone will -- beds are a personal preference. Finally, the shower water is difficult to meddle with from icy cold to scalding hot, and needed to be readjusted any time someone else on the property turned water on or off. It was very finicky and I couldn't get the temperature right.

One final note, they do allow dogs which may be the reason for us to return since they don't have a rule of not leaving dogs unattended in the room, which usually keeps us from being able to travel with our pooch!

Room Tip: Request a renovated room

Thanks Sarah! We are working room by room to upgrade everything and are glad you enjoyed your visit with us.

As far as the dog policy, we do ask that people bring their dogs with them when they are not in their rooms as not to disturb other guests.
