We were visiting the States recently and I made reservations at Giancarlo's. So glad I did. When we arrived, on a Thursday night, it was really hopping. So many people waiting for tables, which is always a good sign. You can eat in the bar side, which looked great... lots of people having a good time. We reserved in the dining room side. To start we had the calamari fritti, and it was exceptionally good. You could taste the freshness. My husband and I generally order calamari, so on our first taste we both looked at each other and said, wow, this is really good. They also serve very fresh bread with herbed butter, but also a roasted red pepper, garlic, olive oil. Nice touch. For entrees I had the petite filet mignon with a side of roasted wild mushrooms. It was quite amazing. Cooked to perfection. My husband had the braised ragu tortellini and loved it. He said it was totally authentic, which is sometimes hard to find. The staff and service here really is second to none. Runs seamlessly. Very happy to have found Giancarlo's. This is where we will be when we are in the area.
