Quick review: this place should be at the top of everyone's list. Classic American dishes mostly focused on seafood, but wide enough to please most. On the pricey side, but worth it. SUPERB service. Nice bistro-type atmosphere.
I was back in town visiting family. We went on Sunday, which has a great half-price deal on lobsters, which are a choice of 2.5 or 3.5 pounds. AT half price, this means about $26 or $35, but it is a good deal for this larger-than average lobsters. EVEN BETTER: there is wonderful table-side service that cracks it all for you, and presents it beautifully -- no wrestling with the lobster at the table.
We also enjoyed the roasted halibut - perfectly done. This is the kind of place where you order sides to share (generally $6-8,) and the mashed potatoes and roasted cauliflower were very good choices. The soups and beet salads were also great starters.
My family has some here on other days that include attractive promotional deals: half price small plates one day, half off bottles of wine another. Prices here are on the high side, but the outstanding quality of the kitchen and service are worth it.
There are all kinds of nice things on the raw seafood bar if you are into that kind of food.
Lunch has a more limited menu, but also things like lobster rolls and burgers ($16 and $15 respectively.)
Very nice wine list by the glass or bottle. There are also happy hours at the usual time but also late night (10-midnight.) There is a full bar with intriguing cocktails, but I am mostly a wine person.
I can't say enough about the polished-but-friendly service. These people know charming and professional hospitality.
So: yet another reason to visit the family is the opportunity to return to this place.
