Basic, dated and needing attention

Review of Ningaloo Lodge
2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 12 Aug 2022
This is a very basic, dated, motel-style accommodation that seems out of step with the contemporary urban design and vibrancy of Exmouth. Food service (eg breakfast) is not provided.

On the plus side, the location of the motel was within walking distance of shops and the room and bathroom were clean.

On the downside, there was no hair drier; the showers had two taps labelled cold (though one was for hot water - a potential public liability risk); the soap dish was broken and not properly attached to the wall; the light-triggered extractor fan in the bathroom was so loud that you needed to go to the toilet in the dark to avoid waking others in the room; there were only two hangars in a large wardrobe, there was only one bedside light for two beds; there were no water glasses or toiletries (except two small pieces of soap). Service was abrupt or absent. Overall it seemed very poor value for money.

What a wonderful place to lay the head. Rooms are small but have everything you need. It’s the lodge, lush gardens and kitchen that just blew our minds. The attention to detail and the small extras were astounding. We would definitely stay again and will be referring our friends and family to this oasis. Well done to the staff and their team👍

Rooms are small and very basic. Noisy air-conditioning. Kitchen facility provided is very well equipped. No hand towels supplied in rooms - (reception staff say people steal them). Beach towels are supplied which was great as we could use them for our Whale Shark tour.

Neat and tidy room, close to local shopping.
      Communal kitchen is well equipped.
Wifi in the room was pretty much useless, so no good if you need to work or do bookings.
Wifi is ok in the courtyard.
Small pool but clean and well maintained.

The rooms are small but comfortable and the resort is an easy walk to shops and restaurants. The highlight is the 5 star professional kitchen which guests use to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are tables near the pool to eat and relax and a great social atmosphere is provided. It’s a relaxed, friendly place to stay and inexpensive if you prepare your own meals and eat there.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Room is basic but the other facilities are top notch especially the large camp kitchen which has every possible commodity. The owners are genuine people even travelling into town to pickup my reading glasses which I had misplaced. Where else would you get that? When we go back we will stay there again.
