“Terrific! Clean, convenient, quiet - with everything we needed.”
Reviewed 11 April 2010

I chose our accommodation (6 nights) based on tripadvisor reviews and accommodation websites. Not easy to do as there doesn't seem to be universal agreement about any of the moderately priced acccommodation.
On arrival, however, I was delighted with our choice. Ningaloo Lodge is clean, quiet, just up the road (4 min walk) from the town centre - and everything we needed was available and in good working order. If I was to really look for fault, I'd say the rooms are small and probably not ideal if you have enormous suitcases... however, for their size they provide all you need: double bed, bedside tables with lamps, desk, small wardrobe, full length mirror, small fridge, TV, ceiling fan, ensuite toilet with shower, hooks on backs of doors, laundry basket and basket for your food.
The spacious, bright and airy communal kitchen is very clean and a pleasure to use. Tea, coffee and milk are provided free and there are fridges for things too big for your room fridge (eg fish you've caught).
The sparkling swimming pool is the size of a small back yard pool, and surrounded by palm trees, a table or two with really comfy chairs.
There are clean barbeques and tables in a lovely shaded courtyard, a recreation room with pool table and cycling machine, a communal lounge room with a big TV, sofas, chess board, tour info and a few books/mags. There's a laundry room and a good sized laundry line around the back.
The staff and visitors were friendly without being intrusive. Everyone was considerate - no rowdy people late at night (or during the day), no rubbish or cigarette butts lying about , no dirty dishes left in the kitchen.
I recommend this place without hesitation to couples young and old who want clean, convenient, perfectly adequate accommodation - and who don't expect a 5 star hotel sized pool and bedroom for the price of moderate self-catering lodge!
Admittedly, we visited Exmouth in April (school hols) when the weather was so perfect we'd have been happy staying in a cardboard box!

I have to say i was bitterly disappointed with this accommodation. The reviews looked ok, and the price seemed reasonable. But on arrival, it was more like staying at a backpacker hostel. The rooms are tiny - i know people say this doesn't matter, but i think the quality of your accommodation can make or break a holiday.

The rooms arent serviced unless you specifically ask. The air conditioner unit just blew out a load of dust everytime you turned it on. And the amount of thick grey dust lurking behind the cabinets was disgusting! I'm not a clean freak, but this wasn't acceptable.

The staff were friendly, and the pool was quite nice.

After a night here, we decided to bite the bullet and stay at the novotel down the road - WHAT A DIFFERENCE.

I would seriously consider staying here. if your expectations arent very high, and you're short of cash, then this would be ok for a night or 2. but you may as well stay at a hostel for half the price!

The place was perfect for what we needed. Friendly staff, great pool, great location, and the kitchen facilities was perfect. The evenings were great drinking and relaxing by the pool and using the free BBQ. I would recommend it to anyone.

This place is excellent value. The location is very handy. The linen and towels are clean and it has useful facilities. In acknowledgement of other reviews: The rooms are small (but have all that you need), and so is the pool (but it's perfect to lounge by on a lazy afternoon) , and the linen and towels are not changed every day (but so what ). However, I've paid more for double rooms in hostels (especially in tourist spots) that are incomparably worse. They don't greet you with a hug or a cool towel, but I found the staff to be friendly and helpful with advice for local enquiries, and the free internet access for the laptop was handy too. This is not luxury boutique hotel by any stretch of the imagination, but it's cracking value for money.
