We spent 3 nights at Mantarays Resort during our recent trip to Western Australia and we were very comfortable. The room was smart and well equipped; and the hotel facilities, the pool, the laundry and the grounds were all just what we wanted. Breakfast was good, and all the staff that we met went out of their way to be charming and helpful, particularly the ladies on the Reception Desk.

The only disappointing aspect of our stay was dinner. It was not a great menu, and the one night that we had dinner in the hotel our bottle of wine arrived, despite numerous requests, just as we were finishing our main courses. This is as much a sign of the inexperience of the staff as anything, but it is disappointing when you are expecting a lovely meal on the balcony.

This hotel was in a class of its own. We chose to have a one bedroomed apartment with a fully fitted kitchen which was at the back of the hotel looking out over the marina. I’m glad that we did because I think that the rooms at the front of the hotel would have been quite noisy during the day from the swimming pool and at night from the restaurant (and more expensive).
It was certainly very popular with the high-class clientele that seem to frequent it.
It was a very nice end to our trip to Australia staying in such super accommodation but a room at the Exmouth Escape Resort or the Potshot Hotel would have sufficed.
Four nights at Mantarays cost AUD2115 (room only). When we were there, they were advertising 6 nights on a room only across the period of the full eclipse on 20/4/23 starting at AUD15,500. A three-bedroom beach bungalow was AUD25,000!
A very classy hotel.

We booked a 2 bedroom apartment for 4 nights.
The view was amazing , we were closest to the beach and upstairs .
Apartment was lovely : kitchen , bathroom , separate toilet , large living area , ample bedrooms with storage.
Shared laundry was very handy with a long trip.
Bathroom was great but the flick mixer tap in the shower seemed to take a very long time to catch up with adjustment.
I don’t understand why but there were no power points on either side of the master bed.
Compendium in the room said that house keeping would come every day between 4-5 pm to change towels etc , they never came.
There is a noise policy in the resort , apparently that did not apply to a small , very loud slightly intoxicated group downstairs on our last night, it made sitting on our amazing verandah impossible , the language was offensive and we had to retreat inside.
Resort was lovely , just needs a little polish .
It was expensive but we’ll worth it.

Room tip: As for section 2 or 3 , quite side , lots of parking.

Breakfast was a real let down! It was very ordinary - on par with what a modest motel would provide so it was disappointing that a nice up-market venue such as this could not provide something a bit more interesting & enticing. Would not recommend paying for the full buffet breakfast as it was way below standard/expectation.

The only resort that’s right by the beach. Actually not facing the pool and ocean is kind of nice since it’s quieter. The problem is the restaurant pipes music all day along and I cannot imagine facing the pool and listening to the annoying music. I was at the pool reading but had to listen to the music. Otherwise the facility is quite nice. Be sure to make reservation for dinner as the outdoor seating is limited. I agree with some of the reviewers that hardly any veggies on the menu. I would recommend going to IGA and buy your own veggies and eat them. The food is quite good but there are other selections in town. Staff is extremely courteous and nice. Most of them are on working holidays.

Room tip: Request a room that’s not so close to the restaurant.
