Fabulous from start to finish- loved the location, the sensational hospitality, the activities and the wonderful staff.

The snorkelling was amazing and the resident marine biologists made the best best reef guides. Loved the gorge walks and bush wallabies too. We didn’t go swimming with the whale sharks as we’d been twice overseas, but those that did all had successful trips despite the rare crimson jelly fish that arrived unexpectedly en masse. We did however take the scenic flight from the airport- highly recommended- stunning scenery with a bonus whale shark and ray spotted.

Sal Salis exceeded our expectations and May was a great month to visit with only one day when the breeze didn’t come in and our super comfortable tent got a bit too toasty.

Thanks for making our anniversary so memorable. The pinnacle of glamping

Room tip: Take a full length rashie - perfect for snorkelling in the warm ocean

My high expectations were exceeded! From the moment we arrived and were greeted by friendly, caring and genuine staff we knew this was going to be a special trip. Our tents was just perfect - clean comfortable and plenty of room. The views were breath taking and the silence was bliss. Then came our first meal ... options, quality and care were all there. When it came to dinner it felt like we were on Master Chef in reverse, as the chef came out to explain the meal he had meticulously prepared, explaining the flavours and the pairings of food all locally sourced. Paired wines were then explained - amazing. Dale and Elly were super hosts and lead an ENTIRE team of staff that are not only great at their job but are some of the kindest and thoughtful staff I have encountered anywhere in the world. A huge thank you to all for making our holiday so VERY VERY special. Kx

Room tip: ALL tents are fabulous, No 7 is closest to the beach and main dining area.

We had high expectations of Sal Salis but they were consistently exceeded. The wildlife (wallabies, manta rays, whale sharks, even a dingo) were amazing and the camp is very comfortable. But what makes this place so special is the staff's consistent efforts to ensure every guest (and during our recent stay, it was a very diverse bunch) has a positive experience.

After spending 4 nights in Exmouth this was to be our indulgent part of our Pilbara trip. I was a little hesitant about camping in the sand dunes but when we arrived this was more than camping and more than glamping. We were blown away by being able to stay on the magnificent Ningaloo Reef. Not too many can say they have done that. We were very spoilt by Ellie, Dale and all the gang. Open and endless bar, gourmet breakfasts, lunches and sensational dinners, fabulous paired wines and numerous activities were on offer. After snorkeling all the other areas around Exmouth, we found no better place than right outside our camp grounds to follow the drift and hover over the beautiful coral and the many species of fish. Sunsets with canapés and drinks were absolutely fabulous. This was an experience of a lifetime and we were treated like a king and queen.

Have just returned from 3 nights at Sal Salis - first thing would recommend 4, maybe 5, nights to do all that’s on offer.

The tents are chic - we could lie in bed and look out over the dunes to the Indian Ocean which provided the soundtrack for sleep with the gentle roar of waves breaking on the reef. An excellent set up considering the location and the bed was really comfortable. We really only slept, changed and washed as we spent most of the time out at the Lodge, the beach or on trips.

Sunrise and sunsets were magnificent. The highlight, and reason for coming, was the day out swimming with the whale sharks - truly an awesome experience. We went with Live Ningaloo which Sal Salis arranged for us. They were amazing.

The staff at Sal Salis, like the other Luxury Lodges we have visited are all brilliant - although we have to say it was fantastic to see Marty and Jess who we had met before at Saffire - that said the whole team are wonderful and nothing was too much trouble.

The facilities are great. We went snorkelling from the beach right in front of the resort - the reef is a couple of metres from the shore line - and the coral and variety of sea life was astounding. Found it to be better - due to its accessibility- than the Great Barrier Reef. Also took a two person kayak for a spin - this could lead to a falling out be warned!

Dinner is communal style which creates an environment to share your adventures with the whale sharks and other sea life or even the other tours Sal Salis run with the other guests.

Hence why 3 nights is not enough - 1 day out with whale sharks, one day snorkelling on the beach and due to the flight times and distance from the airport 3 nights can result in only 2 full days and thus we missed out on some of the tours (a good reason to return though!).
