OMG you need to eat at whalers, their bruschetta is to die for, there is enough for 6 people to try the bruschetta.
We eat there 3 times and the food was amazing all 3 times.

Very disappointing to be honest. We stayed at the resort for 5 days in one of the villas which has been most comfortable.
For our last night we booked days into advance into Whalers and requested a table out of the cold weather. We arrived to be given a table outside by the pool...in the weather and it was pouring with rain! Never mind...we soldiered on...no water after being asked, the lamb shank meal was too salty and the garlic mash was inedible as it was not only too over flavoured but stiff and gluggy...couldn’t eat it. Had some lovely coffin bay oysters and some focaccia which was fine, a couple of wines and $132 later we left. Maybe we got them on a bad night but wouldn’t be heading back there in a hurry. They appeared to be very busy in fairness and maybe just lacked a little finesse on the night.

Thank you for your review.

You are correct within your observation that when it rains here in Exmouth things turn a bit crazy from time to time.

We hope you would give us another chance in the future as your next dining experience could be entirely different on a non stormy night.

We wish you all the best :)

Ordered calamari and dumplings for entre - smaller dumpling portion (4 tiny pieces) and salad that lacked dressing with calamari, but flavoursome so cannot fault.

Not offered any table water and had to chase down.

Main course - seafood spaghetti which my partner confirmed was good. Ordered eye fillet medium which came out well done on first attempt. On second attempt it came out rare; I ate around what I could rather than wait again for a fix. When the waitress came to collect plates she confirmed the steak remaining of the plate was indeed rare.

Ordered the focaccia with mains but it never came.

We were offered dessert but declined.

We went to pay at the end and despite 2 waitresses knowing the meal was unsatisfactory, the guy taking payment at the bar proceeded to show us how we could tip... which my partner declined.

All in all, this place is only OK. Regarding the steak- my feel is that it shouldn't be on the menu if it cannot be cooked properly in-house. Communication lacking between younger team members who seem happy to get you out of the premises without addressing the quality of food.

I had high hopes for this restaurant but it didn't live up. We ate in froth brewery the night before which had better food in a lower key setting.

Thank you very much for your review. We are surprised to hear that the meals did not live up to your expectations, especially the eye fillets as they are very popular in town. Rest is assured that we will address this with our team.

Thanks again for the feedback.

We had a delightful lunch at Whalers Restaurant. It’s open until 2 pm for /breakfast /lunch and later for dinner.
We had fish and chips and a fish burger. Fish was succulent and tender, salad fresh and loads of hot chips. Accompanied by great service and a beer, it made a lovely meal.

We had dinner here twice whilst staying at the Exmouth Escape Resort. The food was fabulous, the cocktails were delicious and the service was excellent. Would definitely dine here again when we are next in Exmouth.
