“Wow what a stunning property.”

We had an amazing family weekend away at Hennessy house-Dunsbourogh. It is a stunning house with everything you could possibly need. We were a group of 8 adults and easily had our own space as the property is very well laid out that you won't ever find yourselves on top of each other.

The property has two living areas one upstairs and one downstairs, both with very comfortable furniture and large tvs. Which means we could banish the boys to their own living area to watch sport!!! There are also two outdoor balconies with superb views and downstairs a private garden area, all with ample seating for a group of people. The decor and all ammenities are of a high quality and at the same time the house has a cosy relaxed feel about it. There is also plenty of parking spaces if there are a few people sharing with multiple cars.

The service from both the owner (David) and the property management company highlife were excellent and very responsive to any questions we had. Including that modern day issue of where's the wifi password as everyone can't cope without being linked to the outside world!!!

I am sure we will all be looking to stay at hennessey house in the future.
Overall this is an excellent property for a relaxing get away to old dunsborough.

This property is simply stunning. Everything is catered for and the house is beautifully finished. Perfect for a girls weekend away or a few friends as the 4 bedrooms accommodate larger groups.
I can highly recommend this property.

“Peace on the beach - we'll be back!”

Location: set in Old Dunsborough only a few minutes walk from the beach and away from all major roads, on a quiet cul-de-sac and backing on to a nature reserve, Hennessy House is beautifully located. Some stunning views from the front and rear balconies (morning tea looking out over the treetops at the beach a favourite). Probably the only negative would be that the shops aren't really in walking distance, but on the other hand this does mean peace and quiet.

Amenities/facilities: curiously for a residential property, Hennessy House has quite independent upstairs/downstairs living and cooking areas.

Upstairs has an amazingly well furnished kitchen (professional coffee machine and grinder a big plus), large living/entertaining area with wooden fire, reclining couches, gorgeous naked wood dining table that could fit about twelve and great views from the two balconies. The master bedroom faces down a corridor across the head of the stairs to the smaller cutely-named 'Lily's Room', which I imagine would be perfect for younger kids needing to sleep closer to mum and dad (but with enough separation to ensure no one disturbs anyone else). Upstairs bathroom had good water pressure from the shower, which is sometimes an issue in Dunsborough properties.

Downstairs has a kitchenette, certainly adequate enough (although grand culinary adventures would be more suited to the upstairs kitchen), second living/entertaining area with a lovely antique dining table and chairs, an additional two bedrooms and laundry facilities (the laundry is huge!) and the garage (which is spacious enough to fit two 4WDs without issue). The living area leads out to the backyard, which while not exactly rolling fields is large enough for entertaining, kicking a ball around or even a game of backyard cricket down the side of the house.

Having arranged to stay with some close friends, another couple, my wife and I found this gave an ideal balance between chill-out 'couples time' during the day before coming together over meals, tea/wine on the balconies, movie watching and board/card games. I imagine it would also work well for families, with elder/more independent children having their own space downstairs and younger ones closer to mum and dad.

Fitout/decor: Hennessy House has a unique style, a sort of modern twist on French Riviera - lots of natural woods, white linen and leather, without becoming austere. Some cute feature pieces, too - like the glass lamps the owners spend their time beachcombing to fill with shells. Great fitout throughout, it's obvious little expense has been spared. Connectivity is as good as can be expected in Dunsborough - house has wifi throughout, with only one dead spot halfway down the stairs (hardly a big issue) and internet speed is decent. The upstairs stereo (a modern B&O unit) supports Airplay, so those with iOS devices will find streaming music an easy task. Both upstairs and downstairs TVs have Foxtel (a must, as local channels are fairly awful).

Overall: this holiday was our first visit to Hennessy House, but it won't be our last. My wife and I loved our time there and are already planning to return over Christmas.
