The naturaliste service was efficient and friendly. The staff were excellent pointing out the early signs of whale activity. The crew spotted a couple of blue whales whilst at anchor. We got out to them, remained the required distance from them and they travelled alongside the boat but were very shy and weren't coming up for air much. They them spotted some activity across the bay with some active humpbacks who were tail slapping and fin raising with the juveniles breaching. It's hard to get good photos, video is better, but the experience was magical. Highly recommend going in season. The boat was not overcrowded and was very stable and well fitted out. I was glad of my jacket as despite sunny skies it was cold on the water. There is a mobile jetty on the beach onto which you board a small 10 person boat which takes you out to the big boat. Transfers are easy but steps with handrails can be tricky. All part of the experience though.

We had a great morning onboard and saw some humpback and blue whales. It is truly a great experience to be able to see the largest animal on earth in their natural environment.
We had a quite lucky day and saw some whales. Two humpback whales (mother and calf) even jumped only a few meters away from the boat (unfortunatley, we have been on the "wrong side of the boat" to see this in full) - as with any wild life watching tour, this is nature and it is unpredictable!
Still, Geographe Bay is stunning and even if you are not very lucky to see many whales, it is a great cruise with a lovely and knowledgable crew.
We recommend this tour and would like to say Thank You to Naturaliste Charters!

Really friendly crew who were very helpful and knowledgeable. Saw a few pygmy blue whales close by and quite a few humpbacks. Great experience if you have never been whale watching before.

I went on the Dunsborough Whale watching tour with my family when visiting W.A. This particular tour had been recommended to us by Helena from Margaret River Unplugged tours, and it was more than surprising and delightful. On the day we went out the weather was beautiful and not long after we started on our way we came across a beautiful blue whale, followed by a pod of 4 or 5 humpbacks being cheeky in the water and playing tag with the boat, and on our way back we saw a Southern Right. It was an awesome day for someone like myself who has always wanted to see whales up close. I was definitely not disappointed!!! The crew were all fantastic, and the captain was very accommodating with his knowledge and interesting stories. They even accommodated someone who was less mobile by seating them in the best viewing spot and ensuring they would see as much as everyone else. Thanks to all - wonderful day

Hi Susan, thank you for your wonderful review and for joining us on a whale watching tour from Dunsborough, it sounds like you had an amazing experience. Geographe Bay is a stunning location, there's not many places you can see 3 different types of whales in less than 3 hours!

The trip was amazing. The skipper Mick (Dundee) was very passionate about the whole tour and was a wealth of information. The boat was a 20m cat and handled the seas beautifully even when we rounded the cape into open ocean. Constant contact with the researcher on land with their drones put us on some good whales, including a blue.
