Owner description: No holiday to the South West of WA would be complete without taking the time to view and photograph the abundant marine and ocean life that thrives along this magnificent coastline. Naturaliste Charters has been operating professional whale watching tours out of Augusta and Dunsborough for more than 20 years. Cape Naturaliste’s unique location means we are able to offer a six-month whale-watching season from Mid May to Mid December. Our tours provide visitors with the opportunity to view Humpback Whales, Southern Right Whales, and the rare Blue and Minke Whales on both their northern and southern migrations. As you watch these majestic creatures breach and frolic, we guarantee you’ll be mesmerised by their agility. We also carry the latest hydroponic equipment so you can listen to their haunting, yet beautiful sounds. Our whale watching vessel, the ‘Cetacean Explorer’ is fully equipped with the latest navigational and safety equipment, and provides outstanding viewing opportunities for all those on-board. Our crew are trained in marine science and provide expert commentary, while guests enjoy complimentary tea, coffee, milo, green tea and biscuits. Other marine life you might encounter during your whale watching tour include: ◾New Zealand Fur Seals ◾Bottlenose & Common Dolphins ◾Sea Birds

Just fantastic. We were lucky to come across a pod of 5 HUGE blue whales within five minutes of leaving the shore. How good is that! Then we followed them for 2.5 hours down the coast as they frolicked in the sun, breached, puffing and playing games with the boat. One of these magnificent creatures even breached about 20 metres off the port bow, giving is all a close up view. Our guide was passionate, witty and very knowledgeable about all-things whales. If you're down that way in WA, just do the trip. It's a no brainer. Cross this one off my bucket list.

Yesterday I had one of the best experience's ever having the opportunity to see a blue whale mother and calf, coming right up to the boat and giving us all a wonderful display with baby getting cross at one stage with mum. The Skipper being very patient in finding us this magnificent sight with full information as to what we were seeing. Many thanks to the crew for giving me at 74 one of the best experience of my life. Will be back next year from the UK can't wait.

Great experience to be amongst natures giants. Even though the weather was a bit on the down side the captain still made it a very informative trip.
Cant wait to do it again....

We were only lucky enough to see one whale on our cruise-but it happened to be one of the rarest ones sighted, the blue whale. Just seeing this amazing creature swimming gracefully in its habitat was an experience I will never forget. The boys were great hosts and we enjoyed every minute. From the provided biscuits, tea and coffee etc to the willingness to answer questions, and even offering ones who didn't have UV sunnies the chance to use theirs (to see the whale under the water). If you ever have the chance to go-make sure you do! I will be taking the opportunity any time we get. :)

Booked via email and paid cash on day of tour. My emails were replied promptly and the booking process was fuss-free.

We sighted 6 whales in total. In the 1st 1.5h, we couldn't spot any whales and were prepared to miss it despite the crew trying very hard to search for them. The crew did not give up and continued in the search and we finally found them! Thumbs-up to the nice & knowledgable crew! The cruise was not rushed even though we only spotted the whales at the later part of cruise. It was even extended to allow us to view the whales longer. Biscuits, coffee & tea are also available on the cruise. We had a great time and would highly recommend naturalistic charters for whale watching!
