This really is one that ticks all the boxes. Ianthi is one of a complex of 4 villas, although you would never believe it. During 8 days we scarcely saw or heard any of the other renters. It is situated in an authentic and attractive village, but is only 4 miles from the sea in each direction and within easy reach of Assos, Myrtos and Agia Efimia. The villa was exceptionally clean and well equipped with new appliances, comfortable furniture, several balconies and sitting out areas and a secluded pool which is on the smallish side but has steps and plenty of shade. The pool is cleaned every morning. The view is of mountains and is very quiet apart from the odd baying dog and very occasional passing car. The villa has very quiet and efficient aircon, mosquito screens and shutters

We were surprised at how much food had been left for us - loads of fruit, vegetables, wine, water, olive rusks, butter, etc all from the owners supermarket/deli.

When we finally found the villa after driving round for about 20 minutes (there are no signs and we had just about given up when we finally recognised it from photos) we received a very friendly welcome from Anna who assured us that direction signs will be put up in the village centre shortly. Until then, if you do not have sat nav, you will have to ask in the village. Anna also called in a couple of times when we were there to check if all was OK and is available by phone if there are any problems.

I must also mention the family run village taverna which is as good as it gets at low prices and is just 4 minutes walk. I believe it is only open evenings, but means you don't need to take the car. In fact as there is a mini market and a bakery in the village, you never need leave Makriotika.

All in all, I very highly recommend Stamoulis for chilling or for exploring. If I have one quibble, they should provide an extra tea towel.

Incidentally, you will have plenty of feline company!

“Love at first sight”
Reviewed 4 August 2014 for a stay in June 2014

This villa brings me back the best memories of Kefalonia and our latest vacation. We liked it so much, that we're coming back in September. The villa is modern, has absolutely everything you need, and the hosts are the best! We were welcomed with local fruits, wine and local delicacies.

It's situated in the best part of Kefalonia, with the most beautiful beaches and nature, and far from the crowds of the South. All nice beached are 30 minuted drive maximum. Beautiful northern towns of Assos, Fiscardo - 40 minutes drive, same as capital Argostoli.
Agia Efimia is the nearest town - 10 min drive - with shops, tavernas. But the best taverna is actually 5 min walk from the villa – at the village square.

We stayed with a 3 y.o kid and the our elderly parents joined us, everyone enjoyed the stay very much. And we can't wait to come back in September!
