“Wonderful house in a quiet location in a beautiful town”

5 adult members of our family enjoyed a wonderful week from September 17th – 24th 2016 in this lovely, quiet and well-equipped house.
The house is peacefully situated in a residential side street but within 300 metres of excellent fish, cheese, bakery and vegetable shops, a good local restaurant, L’autre Jardin, and small, well-stocked supermarket with a good butchery counter.
Mirepoix is a beautiful old town with 2 excellent markets each week and makes a very good centre for climbing up to Cathar castles, walking and visiting other medieval fortified towns and villages using the guides and maps in the house. It is well worth booking on the English-speaking guided tour of the rock art in the Grottes de Niaux – if you speak English!
We enjoyed the pretty garden and the hot tub was very popular after a day’s walking. The kitchen is very well equipped and we appreciated the clothes washer and drier; the plumbing is excellent, despite the house’s age, with plenty of hot water and we all appreciated the bedside reading lights and good mattresses.
