Like a 2nd honeymoon! HUGE comfortable room. great pool and bar area, romantic and yummy diner, wonderful view of Lake Manyara, and fabulous, personalized service.

Lodge Overall: New, clean with interesting decorations and nicely paved paths to the rooms with pretty landscaping. The outside pool and bar area are AWESOME. The pool temp was cool, but refreshing for the hot day. The bar had plenty of comfortable chairs and tables and a nice wine list. The internet service (only accessible at the bar/pool area) was up and down, but workable. Staff include Maasai in local dress with flashlights to escort guest to/from the rooms in the dark (I assume to ensure wildlife don’t scare us away). Only downside: The dirt path/road getting to the property is a dirty-scrub-mini-safari that does not set a good initial impression.

Rooms: HUGE, comfortable room with a great view of the lake. King sized bed, good mosquito netting, big bathroom with a double sink/running water, good shower with plenty of hot water, plenty of amenities (bottled water for drinking and brushing teeth, soap, shampoo, and conditioner). They even provided bug spray for walking to pool/diner. LOVED the outside porch (but did not have time to enjoy it). Solar-powered lighting. This SAYS it’s “tented” and if you look up, you will note the roof is indeed a tent, but it is not at ALL obvious. Walls and floor are solid, windows are clear. This is a stand-alone bungalow. The path to our room was not fully finished. The path itself ended and we followed a dirt path to the room entrance, but I suspect that is temporary and the path is just not yet completed.

Food:
-- Hanging out by the pool in the afternoon, we were served YUMMY chicken wings as a little snack. I RAVED about them to the waiter saying I could eat those wings morning, noon, and night!
-- Dinner: we were escorted to a private little covered gazebo overlooking the lake with a candle-lit private table for two. So amazingly romantic! We were seated and served a green banana soup that was out of this world! The beef entrée was good, though not quite tender enough to rave about. I skipped dessert but my husband enjoyed it – something with berries. Though totally outside, we had no issue with bugs or crawly things we might have expected being surrounded by foliage and plants. The service was perfect, the setting was ideal, and the evening was magic.
-- Breakfast: Again, a private table set for two this time next to the pool. Another fabulous view of the lake. Part of the breakfast was buffet: cereal, several different yummy breads, fruits, juices. Then eggs with bacon to order. The beef bacon that is a little scary, everything else was GREAT. BUT for MY breakfast, the server arrived with an additional covered plate of…. Those YUMMY CHICKEN WINGS from the afternoon before! He must have told the chef how I had raved about them and the staff arranged for more in the morning. I almost fell over laughing! It was the nicest, sweetest moment of our whole trip! I could not finish them, so they were boxed up for me later. UNBELIEVEABLE.

Service/Staff: Did you read about the chicken wings? WOW! Also, I was having a problem booking a room for our return to Dar and the front desk woman was amazing. We had to play with a combination of internet sites, my credit cards, and erratic internet connectivity but we were FINALLY able to book at a great rate. She also called the hotel that morning to confirm airport pickup and room availability which was a good thing because that confirmation corrected a mistake that would have been much MORE difficult to resolve when our flight arrived after midnight…

Love this place!

Amazing lodge with view on the lake. The restaurant is spread with private table places for meals instead of having one big room for everyone. It really gave a feeling of living a really special moment in the nature and with your family or friends ! Service was perfect ! We loved this place !!

Apart from Lake Manyara which is a must-see destination, this lodge really does need to have a higher profile. It is located virtually on the edge of Lake Manyara itself with wonderful views, and occupies a site seemingly remote from everyone else. In the area there is much competition for lodges and tented camps, and my wife and I think that it must compare favourably with them all. Unfortunately we also think it does not do itself any favours; it is, as I say, well off the beaten track with no signage from the main road, but the main point with this establishment, and many others, is this confusing title 'Tented Lodge'. In truth, our tour operator offered this as an alternative to one of the more 'classy' hotels, and we were very sceptical when it was described as such. We, like a lot of tourists do not like creepy-crawlies, snakes, etc, and anything 'Tented' is dismissed out of hand........the accommodation at Oremiti is not Tented Lodges as such!
They are individual solid walled constructions with timber doors, metal fly screens, and a canvas inner lining to a proper banana-palm thatched roof. They are totally bug and snake proof. The owners maybe need to make this clear.
On to our actual stay..... we were welcomed and well looked after by the young manager, Boniface, and his staff. He is a delightful young man with an excellent grasp of English and always looking to improve. As it was not too busy, end of season, when we were there, we had individual treatment at breakfast and dinner. The chef, Hassani, cooked up some terrific dishes, particularly his stir fried beef was delicious. He would rank with many good chefs in the UK, particularly with limited ingredients and materials to work with. The tables were always laid like a 4* restaurant and the service to match.
The actual accommodation was very spacious, the bed coverings, curtains and drapes were all very ethnic and well designed. The adjoining bathroom and toilet spaces were again very spacious for 2/3 people, and super shower with hot water....not always the case in Tanzania. We noted that each lodge had its own solar power unit. The eating areas and bar have been well designed and planned, using simple materials, creating an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity. The swimming pool looked inviting, although we did not use, and the surrounding terraces again well planned and ideal for relaxing.
My wife and I are seasoned travellers, and wildlife specialists... we have been to Africa 3 times now and no doubt will return. Let us hope that Oremiti thrives as it will be high on our list for a return visit.
Highly recommended.

We were a family of 15 spending Christmas in Tanzania and Oremiti was our first stop. The bungalows were comfortable, food was tasty and the overall service was great. I also liked the location with the view overlooking Lake Manyara.

we had a couple of nights at Oremiti and were positively surprised: great view of Lake Manyara, excellent food and very nice staff. The rooms are spacious and bathrooms are more than you can expect in an african tented lodge, very large and clean and with hot water. This tented lodge is just on the way to the Ngorongoro crater and the Tarangire Park so you can easily take a night there without driving too far.
Eco friendly, all solar.

Room Tip: all rooms have private balcony and great views, if you are a family ask for the family suite, you ca...
